Speaker A:You are now tuned in to Blur.
Speaker A:Ey View.
Speaker A:And without further ado, we out.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:Foreign.
Speaker C:Hey, everybody, it is your man on the wall, captain of the ship, Chris Fury.
Speaker C:Back again with another episode of Blur's Eye View.
Speaker C:Thank you for tuning in.
Speaker C:Let's get that mic right over here where everybody can really hear this bombastic voice of mine.
Speaker C:Let's get that volume down just a tad.
Speaker C:There we go.
Speaker C:That's.
Speaker C:There we go.
Speaker C:I was doing voice work and I'm doing a bunch of other stuff.
Speaker C:But thank you for tuning in to Blurds.
Speaker C:I View we are talking about a lot of stuff today.
Speaker C:There's going to be spoilers.
Speaker C:I'm just going to put that out there.
Speaker C:We're not going to spoil everything.
Speaker C:But they're going to be some things talked about that just need to be talked about.
Speaker C:And what am I talking about?
Speaker C:Well, we'll be talking about Star wars in the building, Star Wars Japan celebration that just took place last week.
Speaker C:We'll also be talking about that the second episode of the.
Speaker C:The second season of Last of Us and the ending that we've seen coming just didn't know how to take it.
Speaker C:Regardless.
Speaker C:And also we will be talking about the hit movie by an amazing team led by an amazing director, Ryan Coogler, and that movie is Sinners.
Speaker C:We will be crushing it and talking about it.
Speaker C:Our theories, our takeaways, the praising of that entire cast and crew.
Speaker C:Stay tuned.
Speaker C:But without further ado, let's get this started.
Speaker C:Lanny, what's going on?
Speaker C:Lanny, Hi.
Speaker C:Well, well, my second command hasn't made it in yet.
Speaker C:She's getting her libations.
Speaker D:What's up, man?
Speaker C:What's going on?
Speaker C:So I didn't get a chance to catch you and your husband's review of Sinners, but I.
Speaker C:Because I've been a busy man today.
Speaker C:But I'm sure it was a glowing review because, my God, listen, we're in April.
Speaker D:We've already seen one of the top five movies of the year.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker D:And I don't care what comes out afterwards.
Speaker D:And there are some things that could be very well liked, but this, I, I just can't wait to talk about it.
Speaker D:I, I just.
Speaker D:I just can't wait to talk about it because I felt so good and not just being a horror fan, even though I, I think the only critique I would have said is just, I wish it was a little bit more horror.
Speaker C:I think, I think, I think for this film and before, we're not going to talk too much about it.
Speaker C:Because we're going to save it for later.
Speaker C:But I, I want to say that I think this is a whole new genre.
Speaker C:I think this is a whole new genre of, of horror that we're getting.
Speaker D:And it's from us, it's created from us, by us.
Speaker E:So just.
Speaker D:I felt so happy walking with Nugget.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I think when George.
Speaker D:Everyone talk about that one scene, which.
Speaker C:Is cool, but there were some lines, there were some moments we gonna get into it, but like, but like I said, I think we're in a whole different realm of, of another genre of horror.
Speaker C:Because if Jordan Peele can give us like a psychological horror film, Ryan Coogler is giving us something different too, so.
Speaker C:But we'll be tuning in for that later show.
Speaker C:Quo is in the building.
Speaker C:What's going on?
Speaker E:How you guys doing?
Speaker D:Are you crying?
Speaker D:You're crying?
Speaker E:Crying about what?
Speaker D:I don't know.
Speaker D:I just love the way when you say that, that's all.
Speaker E:Oh, yeah.
Speaker E:I, I.
Speaker E:Oh yeah.
Speaker E:I do be saying I'm crying a lot.
Speaker E:Yeah, it's.
Speaker E:It's really the New Yorker's fault, like, because it's not something I grew up saying.
Speaker E:I went to college and ended up.
Speaker E:I had a friend from every borough in New York.
Speaker E:And I was like, huh?
Speaker E:And then my friend said he was my Morehouse brother.
Speaker E:He's like, watch this.
Speaker E:He's like, they were just making funnies.
Speaker E:And I kept saying, I'm weak.
Speaker E:He said, she gonna say I'm weak again.
Speaker E:I'm weak.
Speaker E:I hadn't.
Speaker E:And I was like, I'm around you way too much.
Speaker E:Because I never would say I'm weak until I was around them.
Speaker E:Same with.
Speaker E:I'm crying, like, yeah.
Speaker D:Because you know what?
Speaker D:I got.
Speaker D:I'm mad at that.
Speaker D:From Southerners.
Speaker E:Oh, really?
Speaker D:I went to college.
Speaker D:I have.
Speaker D:I remember one of my best friends came up and she's like, I'm mad that.
Speaker D:I'm like, what are you mad at?
Speaker C:I didn't.
Speaker D:How weak.
Speaker D:And once I went down south, I said, oh, everything is.
Speaker D:I'm mad at that.
Speaker D:Okay.
Speaker D:I'm mad at that.
Speaker C:I said that for quite a while.
Speaker C:I didn't know where it came from.
Speaker E:It'd be like that.
Speaker D:And I'm like, where are you getting that from?
Speaker D:Because that's not a New York.
Speaker D:That's not even a northern one.
Speaker E:See, I don't know where I got finna from.
Speaker E:I feel like I've been saying maybe finna forever.
Speaker E:Like, that might have been something that I've said.
Speaker C:Forever.
Speaker E:Because I don't know.
Speaker E:I.
Speaker E:I just say whatever when I'm speaking, like, casually.
Speaker C:I'm just gonna do all the comments.
Speaker C:The gang is already here.
Speaker C:The gang is here.
Speaker C:It's funny here in show quotes.
Speaker C:They like that.
Speaker E:Boobies.
Speaker E:I'm here.
Speaker C:Oh, man.
Speaker C:Our shift, right?
Speaker C:Spartan is in the building.
Speaker C:What's going on?
Speaker C:Black Spartan.
Speaker F:I'm just.
Speaker F:I'm gonna leave that alone between boobies and I'm weak from show.
Speaker F:Yo.
Speaker F:Where's the.
Speaker F:Where's the click?
Speaker F:Where's the keyboard?
Speaker C:Give it time.
Speaker D:I heard you.
Speaker E:It's here somewhere.
Speaker F:We're not.
Speaker F:We're not whole until we hear click clacks for no reason outside of show.
Speaker E:Hey.
Speaker C:Oh, man.
Speaker C:Come on.
Speaker C:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker C:We coming on.
Speaker C:We talking about the juke joint tonight.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker C:We were free for.
Speaker C:For several hours.
Speaker F:It was about as close to Wakanda feeling as y'all can get.
Speaker F:And I'm jealous of all that.
Speaker D:Wakanda feeling and get out feeling of like.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker F:When I tell you.
Speaker C:I was like.
Speaker C:I said, we'll get into it later.
Speaker C:There was lines that were.
Speaker C:There were some lines how tempted I.
Speaker F:Was to go to the grand line.
Speaker F:Because every time in our chat, it's great.
Speaker F:I'm like, I hate all of you.
Speaker C:He doesn't really hate us.
Speaker C:It's just.
Speaker C:Did you see that timing?
Speaker C:No, he has it.
Speaker C:Because, you know, he had.
Speaker C:He had.
Speaker C:He had to take the.
Speaker C:The wife.
Speaker C:He had to do with the wife.
Speaker F:The neurovirus ran through my family.
Speaker F:Like, damn.
Speaker F:Like Cat Williams going through most comedians.
Speaker F:I'll put it that way.
Speaker C:Like, okay.
Speaker C:It was.
Speaker F:It wasn't fun.
Speaker F:It wasn't fun.
Speaker F:It was actually quite terrible.
Speaker C:Just that part.
Speaker C:That part.
Speaker C:The.
Speaker C:No bootleg embargoes and foot.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:For this.
Speaker C:This.
Speaker C:This is one.
Speaker C:This is one that you're just like, nah, I got that.
Speaker C:Nah, bro.
Speaker C:Nah.
Speaker F:This is the one time.
Speaker F:This is the one time.
Speaker F:The DVD guy was nowhere to be found.
Speaker F:It's like, dang, this is.
Speaker F:This is your peak season.
Speaker F:He sat there and said, no, we're standing down on this one.
Speaker E:Everybody, twice.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Boots on the ground, safaris in the building.
Speaker C:What's going on?
Speaker C:Too far.
Speaker D:I'm gonna give you so much credit because you've seen it before.
Speaker D:All of us and you.
Speaker D:You held together.
Speaker D:And that was an amazing.
Speaker F:He was.
Speaker C:He was practically nagging.
Speaker C:I need to talk about sitting there.
Speaker B:For, like, three days, like, well, I can't say to y'all.
Speaker B:Or the Internet, bro.
Speaker D:You held it together.
Speaker D:Hats on.
Speaker C:The way, I do want.
Speaker B:To go pay money for an actual ticket, though.
Speaker B:Since I got in free, I'm like, let me chip in.
Speaker B:And since we have.
Speaker B: We got one of the: Speaker B:You get a film reel.
Speaker B:Now if you go.
Speaker C:I think that that's all the more reason.
Speaker D:Wait, what you talking about?
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, on the 23rd, if you have a theater that has.
Speaker C:That will show it in 70 millimeter, you get a film.
Speaker C:Yeah, you get a piece.
Speaker C:You get.
Speaker C:You get a piece of the.
Speaker D:That is going to show.
Speaker E:It's only like, you only.
Speaker E:You have to go to the.
Speaker E:One of the 70 millimeter theaters only, though, because that's.
Speaker E:Yeah, I think that's.
Speaker F:Yeah, there's only.
Speaker E:There's not that many in the United States, so there's really only a few.
Speaker F:So almost every.
Speaker F:Almost every state has one.
Speaker F:I know in Tennessee we only have three, and they're all in Nashville, so I know we only have three inside of our state.
Speaker F:I can only imagine everywhere else outside of major cities like New York, Atlanta and other spots, they may have more.
Speaker F:But yeah, some people.
Speaker E:I don't think every state has one because they.
Speaker E:People been saying they had to cross state lines to go see.
Speaker E:See some.
Speaker F:Oh, I've crossed these.
Speaker E:Yeah.
Speaker E:Yeah.
Speaker E:To see centers in the 70 millimeter format.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker D:And okay, I was about to say, like, I thought it opened wide.
Speaker E:Yeah, yeah, it definitely did.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:But it's definitely if.
Speaker C:Especially if you're a cinephile.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I have a.
Speaker C:I have a cell from black.
Speaker C:The first black.
Speaker C:From first Black Panther that it was.
Speaker C:It's posted.
Speaker C:I got it in a frame and everything.
Speaker C:Like, you got to be at.
Speaker C:You have to have a really.
Speaker C:A really be a big cinephile to want something.
Speaker C:And this is.
Speaker C:It's an unprecedented movie.
Speaker C:It really is.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:It's an original piece.
Speaker C:You.
Speaker C:You want to own this in every form, format possible Just.
Speaker C:Just to own it.
Speaker F:But yes, 7 millimeter film.
Speaker F:It's almost like the Hateful Eight.
Speaker F:Bama, I think an eighth late was 70 millimeter film.
Speaker C:It was.
Speaker C:It was, yeah.
Speaker B:Hateful.
Speaker B:Hateful Eight and Oppenheimer were like the last two big ones.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So, yeah, it's definitely one of those.
Speaker C:It's one for the books.
Speaker C:Definitely one for the books.
Speaker C:Outside of.
Speaker C:Of that.
Speaker C:Of blowing that barn door wide open, how's everybody's week been?
Speaker E:It's okay.
Speaker D:This week or just a week.
Speaker C:If.
Speaker F:I could think of the words I said the last podcast and you asked me that and put that on the audio track.
Speaker F:That would sum up the week.
Speaker F:And it's only Tuesday.
Speaker D:Oh, no.
Speaker C:Oh, my goodness.
Speaker C:I actually can't remember much.
Speaker D:There's not a 70 millimeter one near me.
Speaker D:The closest one is AMC Lincoln Square.
Speaker C:Dang.
Speaker C:I still.
Speaker C:I still gotta look mine because I said I would try to go again tomorrow.
Speaker D:So no Ohio Honor.
Speaker D:Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana.
Speaker C:Okay, so there it is.
Speaker C:We have an imax, but they're.
Speaker C:They.
Speaker C:They play the two.
Speaker C:I know one is in Crocker Park.
Speaker C:Not Cracker Crocker.
Speaker F:Is that AMC or is that Regal?
Speaker E:I think that's what they've been saying.
Speaker E:Like, just even the imax, like, there's IMAX and.
Speaker E:Which people have been calling it.
Speaker E:Oh, well, that's fake IMAX.
Speaker E:And it's like.
Speaker E:It's not fake IMAX.
Speaker E:It's just not the 70 millimeter IMAX that he's.
Speaker E:That you're looking for, which is why there's not that many.
Speaker E:But there's.
Speaker E:There IMAX is everywhere.
Speaker E:It's just that the 70 millimeter one.
Speaker F:Is the harder to get.
Speaker E:Yes.
Speaker E:That's the one that they specifically used.
Speaker E:And they recommend, you know, if you can go see it.
Speaker E:Go see it on that.
Speaker F:I mean, because, let's be honest.
Speaker F:Have you seen the machine?
Speaker C:That's a day.
Speaker F:Have you seen the machine?
Speaker F:That thing has to run through.
Speaker F:I was like, you might as well.
Speaker F:You might as well use that for cotton candy and just come out and just make bank.
Speaker F:I want that motion.
Speaker F:Go ahead, Kira, with the promotion.
Speaker D:I did not see that cup in my theater.
Speaker C:It's in ours.
Speaker G:Yes.
Speaker G:You didn't go to the imax.
Speaker E:I'm kind of.
Speaker E:Look at her now.
Speaker E:She ain't here with her arrogance.
Speaker C:Here's the thing.
Speaker C:Here's the thing.
Speaker C:Before we get to the other stuff, here's the thing.
Speaker C:This is the.
Speaker C:You know, the whole rage as of late has been popcorn buckets and cups.
Speaker C:Yeah, I.
Speaker C:Even though they have it, they didn't really push it.
Speaker E:No, they did not.
Speaker D:They sure didn't.
Speaker C:I didn't care neither, because I'm like, I'm here for this film.
Speaker E:They didn't have a bucket.
Speaker E:And they really didn't have too many things.
Speaker E:Like.
Speaker E:And I think even for, like, that cup.
Speaker E:And they had those cups and then the popcorn.
Speaker E:The.
Speaker E:Just the regular popcorn buckets, but not really.
Speaker E:Yeah, that so.
Speaker E:But they.
Speaker E:They weren't at every single theater.
Speaker E:So it's like.
Speaker E:I think it was just kind of like you got lucky.
Speaker E:Or not, because they were still selling the Captain America buckets at my theater that I went to.
Speaker E:They didn't have nothing else.
Speaker E:So.
Speaker F:Yeah, I wonder if that was done on purpose, though, because, I mean, the movie was gonna be great on its own.
Speaker F:I didn't think it really.
Speaker C:Advertisement so I guess we can go ahead and get into it.
Speaker C:Why not?
Speaker C:Because it is so much to cover, so why not?
Speaker C:So let's get this.
Speaker C:First, I want to shout out comics at the corner.
Speaker C:If you are in the Cleveland area, you can come out May 3, which is free comic book day weekend.
Speaker C:It'll be from 1 to 3, and it'll be at the Rice branch, Cleveland library on Shaker in Cleveland, Ohio.
Speaker C:Come on out.
Speaker C:Have some fun.
Speaker C:They give out free comics.
Speaker C:Amazing team that I had a chance to meet at the Kicks and comics event that Candy B through this past weekend.
Speaker C:Also, just.
Speaker C:They support literacy functions and everything else under the sun, so they have some great stuff.
Speaker C: ce Branch, Cleveland Library,: Speaker C:In Cleveland, Ohio, from 1 to 3.
Speaker C:There's plenty of time to get all these free comics.
Speaker C:So shout out to that team.
Speaker C:They did amazing work.
Speaker C:Also, I ran into a guy by the name of Paris.
Speaker C:Hold on.
Speaker G:Hi, Bama.
Speaker C:He does some very interesting artwork.
Speaker C:And he'll take.
Speaker C:He takes.
Speaker C:He takes, like, destroyed comics or magazines or both.
Speaker C:And.
Speaker C:Wait, hold on.
Speaker C:Mayhem's in the building.
Speaker C:What's going on, man?
Speaker C:He takes old comics and.
Speaker C:And magazines and he tears them up and he makes art out of them.
Speaker C:So I bought two pieces off of them.
Speaker C:This is MF Doom.
Speaker C:This is one of my favorite pieces.
Speaker C:But here's the beautiful thing about this piece right here.
Speaker C:You see the mask and him holding the mic.
Speaker C:But there's another way you can post it.
Speaker C:And it's this way where you see the mask and him holding the mic.
Speaker F:Nice.
Speaker C:So it can go either way.
Speaker C:You can post it either way.
Speaker C:You still get the mask.
Speaker C:The other piece.
Speaker C:And I had to have this.
Speaker C:I said, I got too much Black Panther on the wall, so I got another goddess, you know?
Speaker C:So he takes a lot of these pieces and he just.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:He said this is.
Speaker C:He does it with quite a few of them.
Speaker C:The MF Doom 1 is like one of his.
Speaker C:The ones where he started super imposing different angles on it.
Speaker C:So he started playing with it.
Speaker C:Really dope pieces came with the frames.
Speaker C:20 bucks.
Speaker C:Not bad.
Speaker C:So, you know, support, support the Blur creatives out there.
Speaker C:So, you know, shout out to Paris.
Speaker C:He.
Speaker C:I don't believe he has his IG up running yet, but I'll.
Speaker C:I'll reach out to him and find out.
Speaker C:But yeah, it.
Speaker C:It was.
Speaker C:It was a minute.
Speaker C:It was a moment at Kicks and comics.
Speaker C:Shout out to Ken B.
Speaker C:Crazy great.
Speaker C:Also has a piece later on in the show that we'll be premiering.
Speaker C:So a lot of fun.
Speaker C:In other news, Star Wars Japan happened last week and Thursday, as matter of fact, started Thursday.
Speaker C:It started Thursday and they had quite a bit of news.
Speaker C:Drops Lady Mandalore.
Speaker C:I know you're gonna help me with this one.
Speaker C:So this was.
Speaker C:They have some.
Speaker C:Really.
Speaker C:That's number one.
Speaker C:They had some great art pieces.
Speaker C:This Vader is one of them.
Speaker C:One of the announcements that they had was they were going to do a movie called Star Wars Starfighter, which take place after the last Jedi.
Speaker C:Rise of Skywalker takes five years.
Speaker C:It takes place five years after the rise of Skywalker, directed by Deadpool and Wolverine director Sean Levy.
Speaker C:The.
Speaker C:Starring Ryan Gosling, which at first, Lady Mandalore was like, I am not a fan of Ryan Gosling.
Speaker C:And then she found out Sean Levy was attached and her tune changed just a little bit.
Speaker F:Just a little bit.
Speaker E:All right.
Speaker C:It's all right.
Speaker G:Trepidatious about Ryan.
Speaker G:Not that I dislike.
Speaker E:Not trepidatious.
Speaker C:We use big words over here.
Speaker E:Mr.
Speaker E:Milchick in the building.
Speaker G:At first I was for lower, and then I just became simply trepidatious.
Speaker C:So it sounds like it's going to be a great project.
Speaker C:I think they're what they're lining up over for a lot of their.
Speaker C:A lot of their things is turning out to be quite.
Speaker C:Well, let me see what's going on in the chat real quick.
Speaker G:Yes, Mal, to answer your question, in honor of the west coast, there's a little bit of gin and juice in my cup.
Speaker C:That wasn't.
Speaker C:Didn't I say she had to go get her libations together?
Speaker C:Nobody believed me.
Speaker E:I believed you.
Speaker E:100.
Speaker E:It's every time, right?
Speaker F:It's just the gin and juice part that we have a problem with.
Speaker B:We?
Speaker F:You know, she says, who's we?
Speaker E:I don't know.
Speaker F:Yes.
Speaker F:Yes.
Speaker F:Because I can't have it.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker F:I'm a little mad because I can't have it.
Speaker C:Oh, that's why.
Speaker C:Okay, that's different.
Speaker C:I was about to say that's why we get the best of Mandalore.
Speaker D:What do you mean, it's over now?
Speaker G:You.
Speaker G:You ain't been in the Chat.
Speaker G:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker E:I'm crying.
Speaker C:So Sam Witwer is back voicing Darth Maul.
Speaker C:They're going to be doing the Darth Maul animated series, Mall Shadow Lord.
Speaker C:That's gonna be fun.
Speaker H:Edge Lord.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker G:Stop it.
Speaker F:Why?
Speaker C:If you paid him enough, he'd probably say much.
Speaker C:Also, they also mentioned another animated series that has turned out very well, season three of Visions.
Speaker C:So that's definitely going to be on a lot of people's list.
Speaker C:Visions was an absolute game changer.
Speaker C:I think they seen the work that.
Speaker C:What Netflix does with love, death and robots.
Speaker C:And this is a great spin to that.
Speaker F:It's the best way to say, let me.
Speaker F:Let me do a Star Wars.
Speaker F:Let me do a Star wars series.
Speaker F:But let me show you one episode why you should hire us.
Speaker C:It is.
Speaker C:It is.
Speaker C:It is like.
Speaker C:It is like American's.
Speaker C:America's best, next best talent in animation.
Speaker F:But the beauty part about it is there's never a bad episode.
Speaker G:What don't come for me, y'all.
Speaker G:I'm just asking a question.
Speaker G:Why do y'all like it?
Speaker G:Why do y'all like that series Visions?
Speaker G:Yes.
Speaker F:Same way we like what if.
Speaker F:Give somebody.
Speaker F:Give somebody a chance to write a story.
Speaker F:Let's see what they do with it.
Speaker C:Yeah, it's filler.
Speaker C:It's filling episodes.
Speaker C:Between that one and Tales of the Jedi.
Speaker C:Was it Tales of the Jedi?
Speaker C:Yeah, they're like feeling good filler.
Speaker C:Filler episodes.
Speaker C:We've been wanting different stories, even if they're one shots.
Speaker F:And also different animation because we've seen what happened.
Speaker F:I'm sorry, I didn't mean to talk overland.
Speaker F:Go ahead.
Speaker D:That's okay.
Speaker D:I was gonna say, for me, it's not obsessed with the Skywalker side, that part.
Speaker D:Like, we're going away.
Speaker D:We're seeing different stories that have really nothing to do with Luke.
Speaker F:Pretty much.
Speaker F:Luke is cool, but there's other stories we could tell.
Speaker C:You know, I don't mind.
Speaker C:I don't mind Luke or Han or even a Leia popping up.
Speaker C:I just don't want the episode or this.
Speaker C:Whatever the project is surrounding that.
Speaker C:It's fine if you give me.
Speaker C:If, like, it's a path cross or something I don't need.
Speaker C:I'd be happy with this is another little Skywalker story.
Speaker F:I'd be happy to see how Chewbacca.
Speaker F:How Chewbacca and Han got together with the Kessel Run.
Speaker F:You can turn that into a whole anime series for 30 minutes.
Speaker C:But that's what we had.
Speaker C:That's what we had.
Speaker C:The solo story.
Speaker C:For.
Speaker D:Yeah, I must say, that wasn't so long.
Speaker C:Which does not get enough appreciation because that's not a bad film.
Speaker F:It's not a bad film.
Speaker F:Just bad timing.
Speaker F:When it came out.
Speaker E:I just said.
Speaker G:Don'T come for me.
Speaker G:I didn't say it was bad.
Speaker G:I just asked specifically.
Speaker F:Carrie's not talking.
Speaker C:She's talking to the crowd.
Speaker G:No, I'm talking to show you.
Speaker G:Because she came from my neck too.
Speaker G:I didn't say it was bad.
Speaker D:Up on the screen.
Speaker D:That was funny.
Speaker E:First of all.
Speaker G:Okay, we didn't hear the keyboard.
Speaker C:It's the first of all.
Speaker E:I don't know.
Speaker E:It's like.
Speaker E:It's just so funny because I don't know why she.
Speaker E:She act like I'm not doing this on purpose because.
Speaker G:Yeah, no, no, no.
Speaker G:I know you're doing it.
Speaker G:I'm saying.
Speaker G:I'm not saying I dislike it.
Speaker G:I just.
Speaker G:Here's my.
Speaker E:Definitely.
Speaker E:You preface the thing.
Speaker E:Like, let me.
Speaker E:I need to preface this.
Speaker E:So y'all don't come for me, but I have something to say that you're not gonna like.
Speaker G:No, I.
Speaker G:I often I'm.
Speaker G:I sit here and I question myself, what is it that.
Speaker G:That series.
Speaker G:I like the art, but I don't hear anybody say there's a standout story from that series.
Speaker G:Like, no, I.
Speaker G:It's very.
Speaker C:That's fair.
Speaker C:No, that's fair.
Speaker F:I think it's fair because the time in between, like, as visions is coming out, everybody's talking about episode, episode after episode, and then after it's run, it's like crickets, because what you don't see, you're not going to remember.
Speaker C:So I know they did announce and.
Speaker C:And I can't remember what the name of the series is, but it's very anime and it's dealing in Star Wars.
Speaker C:I can't remember that.
Speaker C:See, I wish I could remember the name of the series because I didn't grab.
Speaker C:It's not.
Speaker G:It's not in the visions thing.
Speaker C:It might be.
Speaker C:It might be individuals because there.
Speaker C:There's.
Speaker C:There's one.
Speaker C:There was a post that I seen a couple of years ago that it was a complete fan made edit and it was very animated.
Speaker C:Like they had the TIE fighters and it had the.
Speaker C:The pilots getting into TIE fighters and everything.
Speaker C:It was.
Speaker F:That was vision.
Speaker C:It was very.
Speaker E:It had to be vision.
Speaker F:That was Vision Season one.
Speaker E:I didn't.
Speaker C:Was that.
Speaker F:It's the exact episode.
Speaker E:They were saying that this is like an anime version of Star Wars.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker E:I remember when, when it came out I mean, it.
Speaker C:And it looked fantastic.
Speaker C:You know, once again, proving that you get the right people, you get the right animators.
Speaker F:Oh, it looks very cowboy, Bebop.
Speaker F:I wasn't complaining.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Everybody's favorite father and son duo.
Speaker C:And I'm not talking about Goku and Gohan the Mandalorian.
Speaker E:This is too much.
Speaker C:Look, there was a.
Speaker C:Somebody.
Speaker C:Somebody lit the leak out of the.
Speaker C:The teaser before the panel.
Speaker C:And I gotta say that.
Speaker C:Damn.
Speaker C:I was like, oh, okay, then Jarin is taking out, like, 13 stormtroopers, and it hit.
Speaker C:Would have been 14 if dude hadn't closed that blast door.
Speaker F:Right?
Speaker G:Well, I have a feeling.
Speaker G:Doesn't he have the.
Speaker G:The.
Speaker G:Hi, Boo Boo.
Speaker G:Doesn't he have the dark Saber?
Speaker C:No, I think Boca town has it now.
Speaker F:Yeah, because Boca time, basically.
Speaker B:She.
Speaker F:She won by proxy.
Speaker B:Bo went on her Zelda adventure last season and got her.
Speaker B:That is her master sword.
Speaker F:Yeah, pretty much.
Speaker D:I appreciate that.
Speaker D:That reference.
Speaker F:It's like, I didn't.
Speaker F:I didn't win by combat.
Speaker F:I won by proxy.
Speaker B:Also, shout out to whoever leaked the trailer, thank you for sacrificing every invite to everything ever again.
Speaker B:I hope the Disney Assassins major end like Swift.
Speaker C:We thank you.
Speaker C:We thank you.
Speaker C:We thank you for your service.
Speaker G:Actually, is it.
Speaker G:Is it even still up?
Speaker G:I've been peeping a few sneak peeks.
Speaker B:Is that account.
Speaker B:Is that account.
Speaker B:Is that account still active?
Speaker B:That's the real.
Speaker F:Is that a council active?
Speaker F:Because that kind of says the story about the said person.
Speaker C:So.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Hey, and also, in great Star wars news, Ahsoka Season 2 is coming back.
Speaker C:We already knew that.
Speaker H:Oh, I hate that hair on her.
Speaker G:It's terrible.
Speaker G:It's a wig, though.
Speaker G:But because she had long hair the day before, and I was like, oh, that's a color.
Speaker G:And then I said, that's a color.
Speaker C:It's bad when you say it's a choice.
Speaker C:Not saying it's a good or a bad one, but it's a choice.
Speaker F:I mean, you couldn't find a.
Speaker F:You couldn't find a.
Speaker F:A straight iron anywhere.
Speaker G:She had a.
Speaker G:She had a high ponytail the day before, so I.
Speaker E:It's.
Speaker G:Something's going on.
Speaker F:Did you go through a car wash and catch it?
Speaker E:Oh, look at her.
Speaker E:She doesn't have.
Speaker G:I'm suspicious of what she's done to her actual hair, because if all of those were wigs.
Speaker G:What's going on underneath that mop, Boo?
Speaker G:What's going on?
Speaker C:Unless it's for another project.
Speaker F:That's for another project.
Speaker C:And if she's Covering it up then.
Speaker C:Then that said project could probably give it away.
Speaker C:Whatever her hairstyle is.
Speaker F:Right.
Speaker C:Did she go.
Speaker F:Does she go full on smooth?
Speaker C:I don't know.
Speaker F:I went full on smooth.
Speaker C:Very well could have very well done that case.
Speaker C:So replacing our guy will be Roy McCann.
Speaker G:Yeah.
Speaker C:Who.
Speaker C:Who plays.
Speaker C:Who played the hound in Game of Thrones.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:But I didn't see nobody else actually stepping up to that role outside of him.
Speaker B:I.
Speaker C:There was just no way he.
Speaker G:There was no way Daddy Filoni was.
Speaker G:Was playing around with.
Speaker G:I don't think I'm gonna do the series at all.
Speaker F:Right.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker G:So y'all better be shut your mouths about this, man.
Speaker G:I don't care.
Speaker G:I don't care if he plays it with a whole ass different accent.
Speaker G:Shut the up.
Speaker C:But isn't there accent.
Speaker C:Wasn't.
Speaker C:Aren't their accents close the same?
Speaker C:Aren't they the same?
Speaker B:I don't.
Speaker F:I can't remember man talking.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:I think.
Speaker G:I think the original guy was.
Speaker G:Is British, but Rory is Irish.
Speaker C:I believe it can work.
Speaker G:No, but to say all that.
Speaker G:To say I don't give a.
Speaker C:Because they made a great pick.
Speaker C:They made a great pick.
Speaker C:You know.
Speaker G:So give me what I want.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So we're gonna take a quick break.
Speaker C:We're gonna come back.
Speaker C:We're going to talk about Last of Us Season 2 Episode 2 Our Thoughts.
Speaker C:I have a thing.
Speaker C:But we'll be right back.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Until then.
Speaker C:You know what?
Speaker C:Let's wait for that one.
Speaker C:Until then.
Speaker H:Wow.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Well, they're gonna get this.
Speaker C:They're gonna get this.
Speaker H:Action Gary Peyton level.
Speaker H:Pump fake.
Speaker C:Hold it for a while.
Speaker C:Hold it for it.

Speaker C:The sing the song.
Speaker C:Jinwoo Rap as he calls it.
Speaker C:Shout out to Crazy.
Speaker C:Great.
Speaker C:He always got some good stuff for me.
Speaker C:It's fun.
Speaker C:So.
Speaker C:Season 2 Episode 2 of Last of Us.
Speaker C:We seen it coming.
Speaker C:I'm not sure if we've seen it coming in this fashion.
Speaker C:That face.
Speaker C:No, no.
Speaker C:That face is exactly how I feel.
Speaker E:It's the face for me.
Speaker E:I'm crying.
Speaker D:That was like a doubted thing.
Speaker H:I don't know what this face is.
Speaker D:Thank you I was about to say that was like, I.
Speaker D:I feel mad about it.
Speaker H:That Faces the gun and juice is starting to hit.
Speaker G:No, that's a.
Speaker F:It's.
Speaker C:It's like.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:I'm like, really?
Speaker C:If they're.
Speaker F:If they were going for shock factor, they nailed it.
Speaker G:Did they?
Speaker F:Yeah, because we kept.
Speaker F:We kept saying what was.
Speaker F:We kept saying, how are they gonna do this?
Speaker F:Because we knew it was coming.
Speaker C:Huh.
Speaker D:No.
Speaker D:Chris was like, did they, like, you want to see the gold face of the.
Speaker E:To the face?
Speaker C:You're looking for shock and awe.
Speaker C:Just more disappointed in how it went down.
Speaker C:You're just like.
Speaker F:Because they.
Speaker F:They did.
Speaker F:They did deviate, and I think that's.
Speaker F:I think that's where a lot of people are kind of a little bit disappointed because they deviated the setup.
Speaker G:Wait a minute.
Speaker G:I think my face has been.
Speaker H:So many different opinions.
Speaker G:Wait a minute.
Speaker C:That's what we're here for.
Speaker G:Misinterpreted.
Speaker D:I think first, you need to go by each time.
Speaker C:I will.
Speaker C:So Spartan.
Speaker C:You go first.
Speaker C:Normally it's the women's, but I'm.
Speaker C:I'm in Spartan.
Speaker C:Oh, no.
Speaker C:You said they deviated, so explain.
Speaker F:Well, there.
Speaker F:Okay.
Speaker F:For all those that haven't played part one or.
Speaker F:Or part two, again, there's this.
Speaker F:It's a simple play.
Speaker F:Okay, so Abby is actually found by Joel and his brother.
Speaker F:He isn't.
Speaker F:I mean, that's how initially it starts.
Speaker F:Abby doesn't start the avalanche, and the town isn't attacked.
Speaker F:Basically, the.
Speaker F:Is attacking Joel while Abby is with him and his brother at the same time.
Speaker F:Abby pretty much leads him to where the rest of her friends are at as basically saying, okay, I can use.
Speaker F:That's a distraction.
Speaker F:Ellie eventually does find Joel, but her and Dina are.
Speaker F:That's a whole.
Speaker F:Another situation.
Speaker F:But again, the whole setup deviated because the town gets attacked.
Speaker F:So it's a bit.
Speaker F:It's a big red herring how the whole setup happens, but in the end, it's still the same.
Speaker F:But I can see where some people say it doesn't have the same effects.
Speaker F:I mean, we also didn't know that that part was gonna happen this early.
Speaker F:I kept on saying, they're gonna stretch it out, but shock factor now.
Speaker C:Now I thought the same thing about them stretching out.
Speaker C:But then as it happened, I thought about it.
Speaker C:I said, this man is carrying Hollywood on his back right now.
Speaker C:So he's, like, in everybody's project.
Speaker C:So it's a boy.
Speaker C:He's just like, you know what?
Speaker C:I.
Speaker C:I got a kid and a Couple planets to take over right now.
Speaker C:I don't have time.
Speaker F:Right.
Speaker F:You got Marvel.
Speaker F:You got Marvel and Disney talking about putting you to work.
Speaker C:Yeah, I got things going on.
Speaker C:I got a kid on the way with my wife and brother in laws, and I, I.
Speaker G:He got.
Speaker G:What is it?
Speaker G:A newborn, a toddler and a teenager.
Speaker E:To take care of.
Speaker C:So he's going through typical dad stuff.
Speaker C:He was like, you know what?
Speaker C:I really got the time.
Speaker C:Soccer practice, wrestling, baseball.
Speaker C:I.
Speaker C:I can't come to the PTA meetings today, so.
Speaker C:Ain't wrong.
Speaker C:So, Lady Manor, what was the misinterpreted face?
Speaker G:My face was tense.
Speaker G:Just tense.
Speaker G:Just tension.
Speaker G:A lot of tension and.
Speaker G:But what is going on?
Speaker G:Oh, wait, you're doing it now.
Speaker G:Now.
Speaker G:Wait, wait.
Speaker G:I don't.
Speaker G:I don't hate her.
Speaker G:I'm supposed to hate this one?
Speaker G:I don't hate her.
Speaker G:Well, I need to hate her a little bit more.
Speaker G:I don't hate.
Speaker G:Why don't I hate her?
Speaker G:I'm supposed to hate her.
Speaker G:I don't understand.
Speaker G:I'm confused.
Speaker C:Does it.
Speaker C:Come on.
Speaker D:They set her up better.
Speaker D:That's why.
Speaker B:What you're asking is how everyone played when we felt the game.
Speaker B:Because it was just like.
Speaker B:The fact that you got your employees is like, if you don't tell people up front, you're just gonna piss off everybody.
Speaker B:So I'm just gonna leak this to all the discord chats and Facebook chats, and then we still watch the happen.
Speaker B:It's just like, what the is this?
Speaker B:We just met you.
Speaker B:They at least let you know it comes.
Speaker C:Yeah, it comes off.
Speaker C:And even then, the why of her being angry, you're just like, really?
Speaker C:You know what your daddy was doing?
Speaker F:Fast forward.
Speaker D:You don't find out in the game until way later.
Speaker D:So that's why.
Speaker G:Wait, you don't find out.
Speaker G:You don't find out what the reason behind him getting killed.
Speaker D:Yes.
Speaker D:In the game, you don't find out until way later.
Speaker D:Like, I think.
Speaker D:I think once you actually take.
Speaker H:So I'm sorry.
Speaker F:Go ahead, Landon.
Speaker F:Go ahead.
Speaker C:You got.
Speaker F:You got it.
Speaker C:You got it.
Speaker D:Yeah, because the way.
Speaker D:The way that they have the game.
Speaker D:First off, you are introduced to Abby as just first of all, man, woman.
Speaker D:That's number one.
Speaker D:Number two, then they just have her attack Joel.
Speaker D:They're like, everyone's looking for Joel or whatever.
Speaker D:They're looking for Joel.
Speaker D:Then number three, you have her campaign, and then you have Abby's campaign.
Speaker D:You have Ellie's campaign, and you have Abby's campaign.
Speaker D:You have a Little sprinkled of, like, flashbacks to understanding why.
Speaker D:Why Joel and Ellie are displaced the way they are.
Speaker D:But, like, the way that the game plays, it's very discombobulated.
Speaker D:So the way that Neil Druckmann and them doing this, they're like, you know what?
Speaker D:We're kind of what.
Speaker D:Basically what Safari said.
Speaker D:We're gonna tell you up front who she is and why.
Speaker D:Her motivation there.
Speaker D:It was very clear because you.
Speaker D:They didn't even have a.
Speaker D:They didn't even have a funeral, much less them saying, like, oh, I'm gonna kill him, so.
Speaker D:Because that's my dad.
Speaker D:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker D:Nobody knew who this woman was when you first actually get involved in the game.
Speaker D:So that's why, like, I even said, like, they at least gave her a chance.
Speaker D:Because you're right.
Speaker D:You.
Speaker D:You kind of get why she's doing it.
Speaker D:But there was so much hatred for this character and even for her voice actors.
Speaker D:Like, her voice actor was getting death threats, and that's.
Speaker F:That.
Speaker C:Some of y'all gotta stop out there.
Speaker C:This is.
Speaker E:Yo.
Speaker G:But that was because nobody knew what she had actually done.
Speaker D:Even after.
Speaker D:Even.
Speaker D:Even after, like, they found out.
Speaker D:Because, like, come on, what.
Speaker D:After maybe two or three days of people playing the game, people started leaking out what happened and who.
Speaker F:Yeah.
Speaker D:But nope, it was like, yo, I'm.
Speaker D:I'm gonna give the death threats.
Speaker D:Like, it was serious.
Speaker F:And that's another thing I want to say for all y'all.
Speaker F:People out there need to touch grass.
Speaker F:These actors get to play roles that we would love.
Speaker F:And again, you would love to get to play the role of Abby.
Speaker F:She may not be the buff Abby from video games, but it's an.
Speaker F:It's an actor getting a role of a lifetime to play a character in a game.
Speaker F:And she herself has taken it upon herself to be very careful about Abby's character.
Speaker F:At the same time, it's not like you spent money on it.
Speaker F:Some of y'all need to go outside and go touch some dog on grass and stop really, with the whole death threat.
Speaker F:That's what it killed Star Trek almost.
Speaker F:Daniel almost killed Star wars, and you'll kill almost every other faction out there.
Speaker F:Just because some of y'all feel the need to go straight and to go to the actor and harass them.
Speaker F:It makes no sense to do.
Speaker C:It's a.
Speaker C:It's a pattern that consistently repeats itself.
Speaker C:We've seen it way too many times to the point that it affects the actor's personal life.
Speaker C:And we've seen it the Actor who played a young Anakin.
Speaker C:We've seen it.
Speaker C:We've seen it happen with Christian Haydenson.
Speaker C:We've seen it happen with Ahmed Best.
Speaker C:We.
Speaker C:We've seen this time and time again.
Speaker C:Y'all are sick.
Speaker C:Rosemary Tran, it happened with her, you know.
Speaker C:You know, John Boyega.
Speaker C:John Boyega is one of the few that said, I bet the hell you won't.
Speaker C:That was.
Speaker F:I wish that was I wish you would moment.
Speaker C:Yeah, they tried it, and he was just like, I.
Speaker C:You.
Speaker G:You know where I stay.
Speaker C:But, I mean.
Speaker F:But that's why I said.
Speaker F:That's why I say it's crazy.
Speaker C:If these are just.
Speaker F:Pete, these are just guys.
Speaker F:These are actors.
Speaker F:I don't mean actors in just general.
Speaker F:They just get to play roles that.
Speaker F:Yeah.
Speaker F:Anybody else.
Speaker F:If you sat there and said, hey, would you like to play the role of Joel from the.
Speaker F:From the last of Us, or would you like to do xyz?
Speaker F:We all jump at the chance sense, but at the same time, just if you're gonna be, hate, hate the same way Chris Brown fans hate him.
Speaker F:Quietly.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Hey, look, y'all still paying for them tickets, though, ain't you?
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:What you got, Mayhem?
Speaker H:No, I just.
Speaker C:The.
Speaker H:The Chris Brown fan part threw me off.
Speaker H:I was not.
Speaker H:I was not expecting that.
Speaker B:I mean, that was the joke I was going with.
Speaker B: e all victims of, like, what,: Speaker B:That didn't make it to the opening credits.
Speaker E:That was something Yard.
Speaker E:Like, I know you didn't say children.
Speaker B:Look, my bad.
Speaker B:It was a bunch of dance movies coming up around the same time.
Speaker B:I got dragged all over.
Speaker G:Classics.
Speaker D:Very true.
Speaker E:Yeah.
Speaker E:You got served as a classic, man.
Speaker B:Look, I just remember, like.
Speaker B:I just remember even the director was like, like, why did you only have them for 10 minutes?
Speaker B:Like, first off, it was seven minutes.
Speaker B:But we had them in there because the movie, as people, we've all been okie doke before.
Speaker B:We were not prepared for it.
Speaker B:We were not happy with a game with these people working on.
Speaker B:It was like, y'all are about to get pump fake so damn hard.
Speaker C:Right?
Speaker B:So, like, how do you have a whole second character in a trailer and you delay it by two months till after people already bought the game?
Speaker B:It just.
Speaker B:They.
Speaker B:They set, like, I don't think she deserves the death threats, but they set homegirl up for failure by, like, trying to keep all that under wraps as much as possible.
Speaker B:And then people are, like, playing the game, like, damn, is Ellie Telling this at all.
Speaker B:And then you have to go beat Ellie's ass as a boss fight.
Speaker D:And to your.
Speaker D:And to a bigger point, even the way that they market it, there are some things that you could have sworn she was talking to Joel.
Speaker D:There's one point is specifically that she's actually talking to Jesse.
Speaker D:But it looks like in the trailers that you saw in the joke.
Speaker D:So you're thinking that he's gonna be out there.
Speaker D:You're gonna be playing at him, too.
Speaker D:It was a whole.
Speaker C:So here's my question.
Speaker C:So, because I haven't played the game, I just know about it, would you say that the effects of we've seen in the game do not compare to what we've seen in this episode?
Speaker C:Yeah, because it doesn't.
Speaker C:Doesn't have the same effect.
Speaker C:I'm sorry.
Speaker C:Doesn't have the same.
Speaker C:No, go ahead, man.
Speaker F:Go ahead, ma'am.
Speaker F:You got it.
Speaker H:I want to say, because I'm in the same boat as you, Chris.
Speaker H:Like, I know the story, but I've never actually played the game.
Speaker H:So all.
Speaker H:Everything Safari and Spartan have said as far in.
Speaker H:In Laney, as far as the.
Speaker H:The backlash that happened, I.
Speaker H:I'm all actively aware that I, in this moment, am, I guess, sort of fortunate to know a number of people that have never played the game but were really into the show.
Speaker H:The Internet, My Internet, my timeline flipped upside down.
Speaker H:People were like, wait a minute.
Speaker H:I don't.
Speaker H:Hold on.
Speaker H:Is it.
Speaker H:Did this happen in the game?
Speaker H:What's going on?
Speaker G:Oh, that kind of not know.
Speaker C:Oh, no.
Speaker H:People were, like, disheveled.
Speaker H:This is, like, done.
Speaker H:Because no one.
Speaker H:No one.
Speaker H:Like, we're very in the loop with all this information.
Speaker H:No one thinks Pedro Pascal is getting killed off in episode two.
Speaker H:Like, it's like star.
Speaker H:Because we know what we know.
Speaker H:Like, it's.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker H:I don't think it's ever going to hit the same.
Speaker H:But people that were just going in fresh, devastated.
Speaker G:Yeah.
Speaker F:Okay, but that's.
Speaker F:But that's the thing, though.
Speaker F:That's why I was trying to.
Speaker F:I thought I was saying that from a.
Speaker F:Because I've played.
Speaker F:I know.
Speaker F:Me, Tavare Lanny, we've all played one and two multiple times.
Speaker F:So the setup.
Speaker F:The set.
Speaker F:Oh, yeah, I'm sorry.
Speaker F:Well, my bad.
Speaker F:This.
Speaker F:The setup, though, is where some people.
Speaker F:Like I said, you have to distance yourself.
Speaker F:There's some things you can do in a video game realm that you cannot do in a live action.
Speaker F:So that's the reason why there had to be some adjustments.
Speaker F:Now Do.
Speaker F:Now, the issue is.
Speaker F:It's just that some people got mad, but it's like, oh, well, that's not.
Speaker F:Well, we don't really get to understand Abby.
Speaker F:Okay, here's a wonderful idea.
Speaker F:Instead of complaining about the setup because some did, some did.
Speaker F:Like those.
Speaker F:Those basement incels did.
Speaker F:Go play part two.
Speaker F:Go play the first 45 minutes of part two.
Speaker F:You will get all the reason in the world why you will hate Abby in 45 minutes.
Speaker F:You don't even gotta play the entire game, just the first 45 minutes at the same time.
Speaker F:Except that this is what they can do in a limited space.
Speaker F:That's why a lot of things in.
Speaker F:A lot of things you do in video games you cannot do in live action.
Speaker F:So you have to find ways of adjusting it at the same time, still make it.
Speaker F:Still try to keep true to it.
Speaker F:So I'm not mad about how they did Abby set up.
Speaker F:Yes, it was fast forwarded.
Speaker F:Because, again, if you didn't play part two, you did get the whole.
Speaker F:You got Joel's death first, but then you got the explanation, like.
Speaker F:Like Lane was saying afterwards.
Speaker F:Well, as you play through Abby's campaign and Ellie going back to the hospital, you see the reasons why both of them want to go after each other.
Speaker F:It's just the fact that you get that later in the game, though.
Speaker C:See, now, before I get to Lady Mandalora, I was taking his.
Speaker C:His early aka, maybe premature death, as this man is doing a lot already.
Speaker C:See, he may not have time.
Speaker C:You know, shooting.
Speaker C:The man is shooting Mandalorian Grogu.
Speaker C:The man is doing.
Speaker C:He's getting repressed tours for Fantastic Four.
Speaker C:So he's shooting that man just.
Speaker C:There's not a lot of time.
Speaker C:He's just like, I know this character dies.
Speaker C:Is.
Speaker C:I just need to.
Speaker C:How do we fix this?
Speaker C:Like, because I.
Speaker C:I can't kind of continue everything because I'm gonna jam up this.
Speaker C:I'm gonna jam up the big money is what I'm saying.
Speaker H:I.
Speaker H:I feel very confident that we are going to see Joel in some sort of flashback here and there, because Pedro Pascal is money.
Speaker H:They shot you.
Speaker F:They got to.
Speaker H:They got to wipe him off the board for five seconds.
Speaker H:Like, maybe an episode goes by, we don't see him, but, nah, that's too much bread that his beautiful face brings in that they just like to be actually done.
Speaker E:I don't believe for that.
Speaker E:For that very reason, though.
Speaker E:Just like you're thinking they could be like, yeah, but what if we don't want to pay him, though?
Speaker E:Like, I'm sure that they have the money, and I'm sure that you probably.
Speaker E:They could edge y'all out and be like, they.
Speaker E:They're gonna keep watching every episode because they feel like we're gonna show him.
Speaker F:Yeah.
Speaker D:I think the.
Speaker D:The thing is, how do you stretch his cameos to season two and three?
Speaker D:I don't see how they.
Speaker D:How they can make that happen.
Speaker G:You have.
Speaker G:They can do the time skip of five years with Ellie.
Speaker G:You can do whatever.
Speaker D:No, I'm not talking about.
Speaker D:Okay, I hear what you're saying.
Speaker D:That's not what I'm saying.
Speaker D:I'm.
Speaker D:I'm saying about, like, the amount they're.
Speaker D:They're gonna have to.
Speaker D:I think they're gonna have to put in some fillers because the amount of flashbacks I don't think can justify for, like, let's say seven to eight episodes across two teams, not one.
Speaker G:I don't think there's gonna be that many flash.
Speaker G:I think maybe.
Speaker C:I don't think they're.
Speaker C:I don't think they're gonna pull an arrow.
Speaker C:I don't think they're gonna do.
Speaker C:Do a flashback every five minutes.
Speaker C:I don't think.
Speaker F:Yeah.
Speaker E:You're basically saying this is at.
Speaker E:At maximum.
Speaker E:This is his final season.
Speaker D:That's my point.
Speaker C:Because.
Speaker F:Yeah, yeah, you're.
Speaker G:You're.
Speaker D:You're then not gonna go through basically.
Speaker C:All that war because last of us.
Speaker F:The season is done.
Speaker C:So I'm sure whatever they do, this stuff has been shot already.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker C:He.
Speaker C:It's just.
Speaker C:It's like he's.
Speaker C:That was his time.
Speaker C:He.
Speaker B:He.
Speaker C:Like I said, he's fantastic Four.
Speaker C:Star wars stuff.
Speaker C:Like, your.
Speaker C:Your window is like, hey, this.
Speaker C:This is all I got.
Speaker H:This is.
Speaker C:This is it right here.
Speaker C:You got the.
Speaker C:What we doing?
Speaker C:I know what's happening.
Speaker C:I've read.
Speaker C:I.
Speaker C:I know about it.
Speaker C:I've read about it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:He's got a.
Speaker B:There's a few scenes that we still haven't seen that are.
Speaker B:Are pivotal to the story.
Speaker B:I hope they don't.
Speaker B:I hope they don't spread them out like, one season a piece.
Speaker B:Because, like, I think.
Speaker B:I think after the New Year's party when she.
Speaker B:When he's outside with the guitar.
Speaker F:Yeah.
Speaker B:And she.
Speaker B:They just cut.
Speaker B:There's a whole convo that happens after that.
Speaker B:Her little come to Jesus moment after their final Face off, which.
Speaker B:That was the.
Speaker B:In the apocalypse, the dumbest thing you can do during a fight is stick your hand in someone's mouth.
Speaker B:You.
Speaker B:So, yeah, I think.
Speaker B:I think they'll have some original film.
Speaker B:Everybody.
Speaker B:Everyone had a relationship with this man.
Speaker D:Yeah, three.
Speaker D:Three or four ones that are canon.
Speaker C:So, lady man, what did you.
Speaker C:What was your takeaway?
Speaker G:As far as I liked the episode, I thought it was very suspenseful.
Speaker G:It made sense to me.
Speaker G:I.
Speaker G:I didn't play the game.
Speaker G:I cheated and looked on YouTube.
Speaker G:So there were still f.
Speaker G:I don't care.
Speaker G:I don't care.
Speaker G:There was.
Speaker G:That I could pick out where I was like, wait a minute.
Speaker G:That didn't.
Speaker G:The what's going.
Speaker G:Wait, that didn't.
Speaker G:That something's off.
Speaker G:Thumbs off.
Speaker G:But I was still okay with it because to me, like, hearing everybody say, oh, it didn't make any sense.
Speaker G:The second game, I felt like it was a good way to clean all that up so we can pass this point and get to the rest of the story.
Speaker G:Okay.
Speaker C:Because there's ways to look at, like, I did not dislike it.
Speaker C:I didn't hate it.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:I was just like, oh, wow.
Speaker C:I wasn't.
Speaker C:You know.
Speaker C:And then once again, my political mind, I'm thinking, I'm like, this man is about to be busy for the next two years.
Speaker C:He's like, he's.
Speaker C:He's kind of locked in right now, you know?
Speaker C:So that's why I was just like, oh.
Speaker C:But in the same time, the only disappointment I had, it was like, she got the drop on you with the shotgun.
Speaker C:Okay, she shot him with that shotgun, but with the rifle.
Speaker F:Yeah, she got him with a rifle.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:You know, so she got in there.
Speaker B:But think of the game.
Speaker B:It was a shotgun.
Speaker C:We shot him in a one leg.
Speaker C:And yeah, even.
Speaker C:Even him.
Speaker C:Just like she was going into her villain monologue.
Speaker C:I was feeling the same.
Speaker C:Hey.
Speaker C:He was like, would you shut the up and get it over with?
Speaker B:That's one of the few changes.
Speaker B:Tell them, Zeri.
Speaker B:I wish they would have kept the original line because he was like, all right, whatever.
Speaker B:Big evil speech.
Speaker B:You got hurt.
Speaker C:Right?
Speaker F:Because.
Speaker F:Because Abby didn't really have a monologue in the game.
Speaker F:That's why I was tripping off of, like, they gave her a full on monologue.
Speaker F:She just went ahead and went to work.
Speaker C:Like, she punched.
Speaker C:She shot him, punched him a bunch of the beating with the club.
Speaker C:And then he's like, she walks away now.
Speaker C:And that was the first thing my mind went to.
Speaker C:I'm like, here's the villain monologue.
Speaker C:He stops her dead.
Speaker C:Stop.
Speaker C:Like, shut up and get it over with.
Speaker B:I understand maybe keeping Ellie's identity a secret, but no mention of like, your dad.
Speaker B:Blood brought A blade to a gunfight.
Speaker B:Like it was right.
Speaker B:Clearly you didn't care what the other sodas.
Speaker B:Your man pulled some scissors.
Speaker B:I put them down.
Speaker B:Big deal.
Speaker F:I mean, you didn't think about the fact your dad did try stopping with a scalpel, you know, Right.
Speaker G:Like, he has no idea what happened.
Speaker B:I'm saying I'm surprised Joel didn't bring that up.
Speaker B:Like, I could understand not bringing up.
Speaker G:Why the do I care about this showing the up out of the blue?
Speaker G:I got to tell you, the crazy.
Speaker F:Part was it was a self realization.
Speaker F:Afterwards where he sat, she sat there and said, you know, just like.
Speaker F:Just like.
Speaker F:Just like back in the hospital.
Speaker F:And yeah, he put two and two together.
Speaker B:Like, oh, yeah.
Speaker C:Oh, you must be his kid.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Once you put two and two together.
Speaker B:Hey, your dad pulled a blade.
Speaker B:I put him down.
Speaker B:Honest killer be killed out here.
Speaker D:Like, okay, so safari.
Speaker D:You did forget that he slaughtered a hell of a lot more people than just the person.
Speaker B:It's very.
Speaker B:It's very clear she cared about none of those people because what.
Speaker B:What is the sister's name that he shot who was their friend of the beginning?
Speaker B:You see, she didn't even get named.
Speaker C:She.
Speaker B:She just was put over with the rest of the bodies.
Speaker B:He was like, you shot through a lot of people, by the way.
Speaker B:This doctor I'm like, clearly we see was important.
Speaker B:Also, I appreciate the fact that they're at least better selling how not with this.
Speaker B:Your friends are like, they came for the journey.
Speaker B:They didn't think they were actually gonna find the one.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker D:You know what?
Speaker D:I think that they did that to make them even more have a palatable to people who followed the game and had a really bad reaction.
Speaker F:Yeah, they were shook.
Speaker C:They were shook when she did it.
Speaker B:We get no reaction to.
Speaker B:In the game.
Speaker B:We just show up, they restrain her, and then they all spit on Joel's corpse.
Speaker B:Corpse and leave.
Speaker B:Like, that's our introduction.
Speaker B:That is our introduction to them.
Speaker B:At least in this one.
Speaker B:It's like, hey, we didn't think you'd actually pull this off.
Speaker B:Like, can you wrap it up?
Speaker B:Because this is clearly making us all uncomfortable also.
Speaker F:Yeah, even.
Speaker C:Oh, boy.
Speaker C:Even boy.
Speaker C:Old boy told her.
Speaker C:He said, finish it.
Speaker C:Like, he was like, we didn't come.
Speaker F:Here for torture just right.
Speaker C:I think this was gonna happen.
Speaker B:I'm not shocked if their whole friendship, like, slowly becomes a fallout when they get back to wherever they go.
Speaker B:Especially if.
Speaker B:If Isaac's character, I think his name is.
Speaker B:Is like, very true to how he goes and being the Military man.
Speaker B:I was okay with the swaps because it gives more people motivation to do stuff versus, like, ow.
Speaker B:My feelings.
Speaker B:I'm gonna go, like, risk everyone's safety just because, like, like Dina being with Joel instead of Tommy.
Speaker B:That works out for me because at least, like, one, I don't need to see her and Ellie getting high and fooling around while Joel is getting beat to death.
Speaker B:Because why, right?
Speaker B:Also, Dina, at this point or by next episode or at some point between New Year's, Joel dying and this road trip, it gets knocked up with somebody else's kid.
Speaker C:Oh.
Speaker D:No, she don't know.
Speaker B:She don't know.
Speaker F:Oh, I'm sorry.
Speaker F:Let me.
Speaker F:Let me not say so.
Speaker B:So I don't know if.
Speaker B:I don't know if they're gonna go to that point, but I'm saying this is what.
Speaker B:This is what was stupid about it.
Speaker B:Gina goes off and has her own, like.
Speaker B:Like, fun phase while Joel's getting buried.
Speaker B:And then it's just like, sure, I'll go with you across the country, when I probably didn't even tell the other person who.
Speaker B:Who could take my place.
Speaker B:And then they get a bunch of people innocently.
Speaker B:Here's how I describe the game for people who've never seen it.
Speaker B:This is like.
Speaker B:This is like if you introduce Tony and all the trailers for Civil War, but psych.
Speaker B:Viola Davis actually just shoots Tony before the opening credits.
Speaker B:And instead of now, now the Avengers getting revenge.
Speaker B:But we spent a whole half of the movie watching it from Viola's perspective.
Speaker C:So it's like.
Speaker C:It's like the other guys.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:It's Mark Wahlberg and Will.
Speaker C:Will Ferrell.
Speaker C:But you're showing us the Rock and Sam Jackson, and they died five minutes into the film.
Speaker B:And then we get introduced to the other guys, and we have to watch everyone.
Speaker B:They know and love you, Captain.
Speaker B:You're like, we don't care.
Speaker B:We just met these people.
Speaker B:But Tommy.
Speaker B:Tommy, I like the way what they did with Tommy because this gives more risk and reward for him getting involved because now he's not just somebody's husband.
Speaker B:He's.
Speaker B:He's, like, important to that entire structure because he was the one getting everyone into place when the invasion happened.
Speaker B:So now.
Speaker C:Yeah, that's true.
Speaker B:So now if he gets hurt or if he gets hurt or injured, which may or may not still be the case, he's now, like, disrupting his home as well as the entire ecosystem of that city.
Speaker B:Also.
Speaker B:I don't know if they'll put two and two together, but Abby Waking up to her now makes her, like, enemy of the state for everyone there, technically.
Speaker F:Right.
Speaker D:He kind of woke it up, but then you guys told me that the tendrils woke it up too.
Speaker C:So that's what I was trying.
Speaker B:That's what I could have.
Speaker G:I don't think that's gonna play.
Speaker B:I couldn't figure that part.
Speaker B:I'm like, was it a coincidence or were the tendrils, like, telling them they.
Speaker G:Have been shown in the previous episode?
Speaker G:Why didn't nobody say some.
Speaker G:About the goddamn 10?
Speaker G:Somebody saw it, right?
Speaker G:Like somebody did.
Speaker F:They were looking at.
Speaker B:They cracked.
Speaker B:No, they.
Speaker B:They cracked open the pipe.
Speaker B:They saw the tendrils, came and got Tommy.
Speaker B:And then somebody.
Speaker B:They looked over and saw the zombies coming.
Speaker F:And then they had to get.
Speaker B:Yeah, and then Tommy starts alerting everyone.
Speaker B:Ring the bell.
Speaker B:Ring the bell.
Speaker B:Get the stuff in place.
Speaker B:Get the.
Speaker B:Get the gas cans.
Speaker G:No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker G:I'm talking about the be in episode.
Speaker C:The previous that it was Vines, because remember, it's still.
Speaker B:It's still in the pipe.
Speaker B:They didn't see until they cracked the pipe open this episode, Right?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker F:At that time.
Speaker F:At that time, Dina went to.
Speaker F:Joel was talking about, we found things in the pipes.
Speaker F:And he sat there and said, well, that's the reason why we're.
Speaker F:He said there, said, that's the reason why we're cutting up and replacing them.
Speaker F:They didn't actually dig that deep enough to actually.
Speaker F:Actually see it.
Speaker F:So as a viewer.
Speaker F:As the viewer, you saw it.
Speaker F:But as to the rest of the.
Speaker G:World, it's just like I was questioning.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Because I could have swore somebody had seen it because they were there.
Speaker B:He flicks the cigarette, and then you get a front shot of the pipe where it lands.
Speaker B:But, like, standing over, you wouldn't be able to see it because we're getting like a straight shot into it versus right over the top when they saw it and realized.
Speaker B:And then I guess at the.
Speaker B:I guess.
Speaker B:I don't know, maybe the.
Speaker B:They realized they were exposed and then the zombies woke up.
Speaker B:But also the fact that they're showing that these things have evolved because in the game, they literally throw you into a building.
Speaker B:It's like, oh, right, stalkers exist, by the way.
Speaker B:Meet, meet your new enemy versus the way they've been introduced, which is like they actually are being.
Speaker B:They're being tactical and they're hiding under the corpses of their own.
Speaker F:Now, that was not.
Speaker F:I like how they did that.
Speaker F:They did show intelligence.
Speaker F:Like, they just basically stated is basically Buried themselves on top of this, on top of each other, and waited out.
Speaker F:I said, okay, I like that because you're pretty much saying, this is how they're evolved.
Speaker F:They're not.
Speaker F:They're not strategically thinking, but it's almost like hive mind thinking.
Speaker C:I like that.
Speaker G:You kind of saw that in the previous season where they had that big mound of them pop up out of the.
Speaker E:The.
Speaker C:Yeah, they had a big.
Speaker C:They had a big.
Speaker C:They had a big boy there, too.
Speaker C:They had a problem with that one.
Speaker F:Yeah, you gotta.
Speaker F:I'm sorry.
Speaker F:If you got a bloater coming this way.
Speaker F:Of all the.
Speaker F:Of all the firepower you got and this big bullet sponge is coming your way, why do we not have explosives?
Speaker G:Because you trying to town a little bit.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker F:Look, that bloater was good.
Speaker F:50ft from the fence.
Speaker F:You're sitting there telling me not one stick of dynamite.
Speaker G:If you missed, then what was the point?
Speaker E:I think they were trying to be.
Speaker F:You can't miss with explosives.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, they have a hive mind.
Speaker B:But it's the fact that, like, it's no longer just a method of communication.
Speaker B:It's the fact that they're actually being, like, strategic and tactical and taking down grizzly bears and all this other, like, they're.
Speaker B:They're getting more ferocious and more aggressive.
Speaker B:They're not just communicating like they were in season one.
Speaker B:They're.
Speaker B:They're actually adapting.
Speaker B:So whether or not Abby was, like, the signal for them to go off, if she just happened to be caught off and then waking up, like, ma'am, at least take this info back to your people while you were off dicking around in another town.
Speaker B:Because her.
Speaker B:Her whole crew is technically, like, the best young Avengers squad.
Speaker B:Her.
Speaker B:Her team has as well.
Speaker B:So them going missing for, like, however long this took like, that.
Speaker B:I hope that doesn't just, like, get.
Speaker C:Breezed over either, because, like, where were y'all at?
Speaker C:Like, what were y'all doing?
Speaker C:Yeah, right.
Speaker B:Especially being built like a brick.
Speaker D:I think I.
Speaker D:I think in the game, Isaac is like.
Speaker D:He gave them the blessings to do that.
Speaker D:Any other time that she left was not sanctioned.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Because I.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker C:I know.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Because he did say.
Speaker C:Well, yeah, yeah, I know.
Speaker C:In the last episode, they had her before the council and.
Speaker C:And was saying, hey.
Speaker C:He knew.
Speaker C:He was just like, yeah, I already know that.
Speaker C:That was a lie.
Speaker C:Like, after they left, he was like, pretty much.
Speaker C:It's like a slap on the wrist and, like, don't do it again.
Speaker C:But when they left, he was like, yeah, that was a lie.
Speaker C:I already know they were doing something else.
Speaker G:I'm confused.
Speaker C:No, no, I'm talking about first episode.
Speaker F:The first episode.
Speaker G:No, wait, Tafari.
Speaker B:I'm talking about.
Speaker B:I'm talking about Abby.
Speaker F:Oh, yeah.
Speaker F:Oh, yeah.
Speaker F:Abby definitely disobeyed orders when she went.
Speaker D:Out to go to Joel.
Speaker D:I think that was sanctioned.
Speaker F:Nope.
Speaker F:Oh, boys.
Speaker F:Oh, boy.
Speaker F:Oh, boy.
Speaker F:Old boy sat there and said.
Speaker F:When he sat there and told Abby, he said, we don't have the resources to go after your little revenge hunt.
Speaker F:And that's when old boy that was with her in episode two said, look, if you're gonna go, we're gonna go with you.
Speaker F:Because she was never given the.
Speaker C:She was never given.
Speaker D:I don't think, I don't think in.
Speaker D:I don't think in the game she got penalized.
Speaker F:No, in the game.
Speaker D:That's what I'm thinking.
Speaker B:They didn't really get penalized.
Speaker B:Yeah, they didn't get really, really get penalized because those are his star players.
Speaker B:He just didn't like that they all put themselves at risk.
Speaker B:Oh, her little revenge tour because.
Speaker F:Well, let's be.
Speaker F:Let's be honest.
Speaker F:In the game, Buff Abby could do whatever she wanted.
Speaker F:She said that.
Speaker F:Said she want to go up to Joel with guns.
Speaker D:I was about to say something, but that's spoilers.
Speaker B:I would say that's.
Speaker B:That's pretty much it.
Speaker D:There's a point.
Speaker D:Let's just say that.
Speaker B:Yeah, I mean, that's basically it though.
Speaker B:Abby is such a.
Speaker B:She.
Speaker B:She was such a.
Speaker B:A buff bruiser for the team.
Speaker B:You really couldn't question as long as she got right back to work, which she did.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker F:And like Tafara said, that was.
Speaker F:That's the number one hitter.
Speaker F:So she wanted to go on a revenge tour.
Speaker F:The Wof was like.
Speaker B:Hey, what you got, man?
Speaker C:Go ahead.
Speaker H:No, I was just gonna say on the back of what y'all talking about, Buff Abby.
Speaker H:I think the, the TV show is earning Abby as she is physically because what is it, like five, six of them all together?
Speaker H:Why are they listening to this small, little real white girl?
Speaker H:Something about her has to be that she is off or she, she's actually like that up here.
Speaker C:Because the North.
Speaker C:Because the North.
Speaker B:Because in the game, some of what gets people hurt is the fact that she can wrestle guns away from grown ass men.
Speaker B:That's like, that's, that's, that's a factor that actually takes place in like certain parts of the game is that she overpowers certain people.
Speaker D:She's Almost being starved.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Like I said, they.
Speaker C:They listen to her because the north remembers.
Speaker C:So it is what it is.
Speaker C:The moment that everyone has been waiting for.
Speaker C:Hurley, we are talking about sinners.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker D:I want that, man.
Speaker C:Wouldn't it be something if she said, there's no more looking in here.
Speaker C:I'm just showing it off.
Speaker E:Yeah, it's her.
Speaker E:Going to grab her cup again.
Speaker E:That's crazy.
Speaker C:So this amazing team of.
Speaker C:Ryan Coogler, Love With Gorenson, Ruth Carter, Autumn.
Speaker C:I want to say I'll get her.
Speaker G:Name with a cake.
Speaker G:Kurt.
Speaker C:Oh, Eric Erica Bar or something like that.
Speaker C:Because it's her married last name, too.
Speaker C:And the entire cast who did an amazing job behind the cameras.
Speaker C:In front of the cameras.
Speaker C:I didn't check the numbers for today, but I'm sure.
Speaker F:One second.
Speaker C:But it did.
Speaker C:It did open up at 60.
Speaker C:61 million.
Speaker C:Not 60.
Speaker C:It was actually 61.
Speaker C:They downplayed it.
Speaker C:Said try to say it was 45 million.
Speaker C:I'm like, y'all not even ready yet.
Speaker C:Y'all didn't get all the numbers in just yet.
Speaker C:Turns out it was 61.
Speaker C:Gave us a different type of horror genre that we're looking at now.
Speaker C:Gave us another symbolic.
Speaker C:Very, very symbolic film in this.
Speaker C:In Sinners.
Speaker C:We're gonna break it down.
Speaker C:If you.
Speaker C:If you did not see this film, I have one thing to say to you.
Speaker C:Don't you put that on us.
Speaker C:Putting it all out.
Speaker C:We're not spoiling every detail.
Speaker C:Don't get it.
Speaker E:Oh, 71.
Speaker G:Yeah, baby.
Speaker F:Yeah.
Speaker G:Faster.
Speaker G:Let's go.
Speaker C:71.
Speaker C:Here it is.
Speaker F:71 million.
Speaker B:Hey, look, the numbers are getting.
Speaker B:Are getting counted very slowly.
Speaker F:So, yeah, 55 million domestically.
Speaker F:71 million worldwide.
Speaker E:No, it was more than 71.
Speaker E:It was.
Speaker E:It was at 100 and something worldwide already.
Speaker C:Yeah, it was like a 141 Saturday.
Speaker C:I think it was Saturday.
Speaker C:It was like.
Speaker E:Yeah, it was 100 and something worldwide on the weekend.
Speaker F:170 million now worldwide.
Speaker F:My bad.
Speaker B:Is it open world?
Speaker B:Is it open worldwide already?
Speaker B:I thought it was just in the US for now.
Speaker G:A few.
Speaker E:There's a few countries that have it.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker F:Unless you're in Korea.
Speaker C:Shout out to the blurred explorer for letting us know that you won't see it until later.
Speaker E:And I'm like, I guess the summertime for y'all.
Speaker F:They said Korea won't see it till June.
Speaker F:I'm like to every anime fan in the US Right now, pointing at Korea.
Speaker F:Now you know how it feels, right?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Which.
Speaker B:Which also reminds people it's not Everywhere yet.
Speaker B:So it'll be doing just fine if y'all can stop making me scroll for it when I go to look for tickets.
Speaker D:Shout out to that one.
Speaker G:I need to talk to you real quick.
Speaker E:What happened?
Speaker B:Cinemark is on that, too.
Speaker B:It's like.
Speaker B:It's like if you go look up a movie ticket at any theater, it's like Centers is at, like, the back of the catalog.
Speaker F:They're trying to play games.
Speaker E:I don't know damn well.
Speaker E:I can't.
Speaker G:I don't see it.
Speaker G:I don't see it.
Speaker G:Oh, there it is.
Speaker G:Right.
Speaker C:Right there.
Speaker E:What's at the top?
Speaker E:Like, what movies are at?
Speaker G:Nothing.
Speaker G:That came out this week.
Speaker E:Okay.
Speaker G:Yeah, this week.
Speaker G:Let me see if I can.
Speaker E:Yeah.
Speaker G:King of Kings.
Speaker G:Stop it.
Speaker G:Ain't nobody.
Speaker G:I love you, baby.
Speaker G:Lawrence, I love you, too.
Speaker G:Ain't nobody going to see that.
Speaker F:Dang.
Speaker B:Well, those are decent movies.
Speaker B:It's just they all.
Speaker G:It was.
Speaker D:Was.
Speaker G:It was.
Speaker F:But it's how they're designing it to where you have to search for it.
Speaker C:You're making it seem like.
Speaker C:They're making it seem like.
Speaker C:Oh, it's not in the theaters.
Speaker C:No.
Speaker C:Yes, it is, and those still is.
Speaker B:Those movies came out, but those movies all came out before Sinners, which is why it's weird that, like, they're at the top like that.
Speaker C:Oh, it's not weird.
Speaker C:It's not weird.
Speaker C:It's by design.
Speaker C:Exactly what that is.
Speaker E:Real weird.
Speaker G:With your money, y'all don't want to make money.
Speaker G:What's.
Speaker G:What's going on?
Speaker G:I thought that was a thing.
Speaker C:They.
Speaker F:They want to, like.
Speaker F:They want to stick by the fact that an original black horror nor can't make money.
Speaker F:They want.
Speaker F:They want so bad to make that effect, to make that a fact, and they are being proven wrong by the freaking day.
Speaker E:It's already made.
Speaker C:Let's break it down.
Speaker B:Now that the academy has to watch all the movies, if it just.
Speaker C:Well, that's another story.
Speaker C:That's a whole nother story.
Speaker C:Let's break this movie down.
Speaker E:This.
Speaker C:Let's start off right here.
Speaker E:Let me tell you.
Speaker E:I don't know if y'all heard my voice note, but I.
Speaker E:I gotta give it to Michael.
Speaker E:This.
Speaker E:The one time I'm gonna give it to this man.
Speaker G:Wait, me too.
Speaker E:He.
Speaker G:He.
Speaker E:He played.
Speaker E:He played the.
Speaker E:Out of these twins.
Speaker E:And I gotta say, it's the first time I was like, you know what?
Speaker E:You look the good Michael.
Speaker E:I said, okay, you.
Speaker E:You know, speak on.
Speaker E:He did his thing.
Speaker E:Okay, I will say it.
Speaker E:Wonderful.
Speaker C:There's a scene where the brothers are sitting outside by the car.
Speaker G:Oh yeah.
Speaker C:And Stack is rolling up the cigarette.
Speaker E:That was it.
Speaker C:Smoke is taking it.
Speaker C:And I'm watching the smoke.
Speaker C:And normally when you see these types of movies where an actor plays a dual role, you can see it.
Speaker C:See it.
Speaker C:You couldn't see it.
Speaker G:You couldn't tell.
Speaker G:You couldn't tell the pass off.
Speaker G:You couldn't tell from the shadows.
Speaker G:You couldn't tell from the smoke.
Speaker G:It was all put together.
Speaker E:That, and that was like, that was in the very beginning.
Speaker E:When I saw that, I immediately said, oh, this a bad movie.
Speaker E:I said, no, imagine passing it to yourself.
Speaker E:You pass your own self a sick.
Speaker C:And then that.
Speaker C:And not miss a beat.
Speaker C:And then, and like you said, the way they played off each other, you could tell like, oh, these are two different people.
Speaker E:Yeah, he did great.
Speaker C:You did that.
Speaker G:Maybe I should save that to the end.
Speaker G:I'll save it to the end.
Speaker G:Huh?
Speaker G:What?
Speaker F:What?
Speaker F:Try it again.
Speaker F:Safari.
Speaker B:Are we doing like half spoiler free, half not?
Speaker C:Yeah, we're not.
Speaker C:We're not, we're not doing the full dump.
Speaker G:You should put in on this.
Speaker G:You should put in on this.
Speaker E:I cannot be held liable for what I say.
Speaker E:That's all.
Speaker C:That part like, that's, that's why I said it's not going to be a full on dump.
Speaker C:But there things will be said things.
Speaker B:Okay, so if you have on headphones, just mute yourself when these two start talking.
Speaker D:Like, I don't know, because there's two seeds that y'all.
Speaker E:You can, you can mute me.
Speaker B:Okay, so if the entire.
Speaker B:Just, just mute button, if you hear it from the top row on the balcony here, just go ahead and just volume down.
Speaker E:Hey, I, I want to have a weekend.
Speaker G:He had a whole week.
Speaker G:He had a week in a weekend.
Speaker D:And you knew that it was 100 by Rotten Tomatoes for like two weeks.
Speaker E:Look, I even went to go see it and I, I actually did not have plans to see it.
Speaker E:I didn't.
Speaker E:And I took my ass to the thing.
Speaker B:This is true.
Speaker B:This is guaranteed show.
Speaker B:You don't like y'all.
Speaker B:So she's coming out.
Speaker G:That's all I'm saying.
Speaker B:So if even Shoyo's saying she can't hold water, that tells you something.
Speaker C:So let's, let's talk about some of these, these things.
Speaker C:Now besides Michael B.
Speaker C:Jordan, I'll almost say Michael B.
Speaker C:Jordan.
Speaker C:Michael B.
Speaker C:Jordan.
Speaker C:Besides their acting.
Speaker C:Someone who I'm amazed has not gotten their flowers.
Speaker C:Del Wor this man X.
Speaker F:He's been in things multiple movies.
Speaker C:Mr.
Speaker C:Stop eating my sesame cake.
Speaker C:I'm just saying if you've seen Coco.
Speaker F:You know although the greatest role he ever did was on a news or was on a news channel.
Speaker E:No middle sister.
Speaker E:So say it then.
Speaker C:Say it.
Speaker F:So say it.
Speaker C:Say it.
Speaker C:Say it.
Speaker D:I didn't.
Speaker F:Say it.
Speaker F:Go ahead and say it.
Speaker C:That seems like that seemed to be real.
Speaker F:That seem to be real if pull up was a person.
Speaker G:Nah Mel, you gotta flip that.
Speaker G:Smoke was.
Speaker G:Smoke was this chill one.
Speaker E:Smoke was the level.
Speaker C:Smoke was the cognac on rock was.
Speaker G:The down for a spell with smoke.
Speaker B:Smoke was very much the smoke was very much an example of back then even gangsters had decorum like yeah wait.
Speaker G:Yes Will.
Speaker H:Smoke was the level headed one.
Speaker G:Yeah Smoke.
Speaker E:Smoke was the one that was me.
Speaker C:If you look.
Speaker C:If you look at how they were acting towards like with each other was the level headed one.
Speaker E:Stack act.
Speaker E:You trying to say that Smoke wasn't the level headed one.
Speaker E:He took them in the room.
Speaker E:He's the one that took them in.
Speaker G:The room number one.
Speaker G:Number two.
Speaker G:He was about his business.
Speaker G:He meant exactly the reason why you think he's not is because he meant what the he said don't touch my let honk on a horn and let me know.
Speaker G:And they kept.
Speaker G:They kept doing what they was doing.
Speaker G:Oh you mean it it back got you done.
Speaker D:And not only that he actually helped to heal them because he gave them.
Speaker D:He gave all those people some money.
Speaker F:Stack would have never.
Speaker G:Hit him in the dome.
Speaker G:What you mean a wound in the ass in the knee.
Speaker G:You got a limp when you get back.
Speaker G:He was giving them a fair shot.
Speaker C:That we're not saying they both ruthless.
Speaker C:Not ruthless.
Speaker C:It's just Smoke was a little more reserved with his ruthlessness.
Speaker C:He was just like I said what I like had his.
Speaker E:He had his things and you could see it.
Speaker E:He had his.
Speaker E:He had his triggers and everything.
Speaker E:And it was shown all through the movie.
Speaker E:But he definitely he kept more control.
Speaker E:He.
Speaker E:Yes he had discipline in ways that obviously Stack did not but he also had his triggers where it could which is the reason like the scene we just talked about.
Speaker E:Stack has smoked the thing because he couldn't wrap it.
Speaker E:And you see that in the end.
Speaker C:Like Smoke Smoke was smack was the one that always rode the cigarette.
Speaker C:Smoke couldn't do it.
Speaker B:What?
Speaker B:What do you got?
Speaker B:What do you got?
Speaker H:You know what it is guys?
Speaker H:Baltimore is no longer on the the of the the deadliest cities.
Speaker E:Oh my God, you're so ridiculous.
Speaker H:I've been exonerated of.
Speaker H:Of this.
Speaker H:This violence of which you speak.
Speaker E:You only been out here for two seconds.
Speaker E:Now, you.
Speaker E:That's crazy.
Speaker G:Sure, no problem.
Speaker B:I hope you're pro.
Speaker B:I hope your.
Speaker B:Texas.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's lovely.
Speaker C:Oh, who killed the snake?
Speaker C:Smoke is.
Speaker E:It was smoke.
Speaker C:Stacks.
Speaker C:Stacks.
Speaker B:I still appreciate what a tag team effort that was.
Speaker E:Yeah, it was very obvious because he.
Speaker C:Sat up there, he unsheathed it, and he just said.
Speaker E:That entire sequence, when you think about it, who won Sheik with.
Speaker E:Who passed the torch and then who used the torch?
Speaker E:Was the whole thing.
Speaker C:Now we're gonna get into.
Speaker C:We're gonna get into this one.
Speaker C:Jack O'Connell playing Remick.
Speaker E:Hey, I don't know who that man is, but.
Speaker E:But he definitely.
Speaker E:He did his part.
Speaker G:Okay.
Speaker E:He did.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker C:He was number one.
Speaker C:He was singing number two.
Speaker C:That was.
Speaker C:That was him doing the Irish River Dance.
Speaker C:That was him doing that.
Speaker C:Because he's done that before.
Speaker C:He's done an interview where he said that he's done that.
Speaker C:He did it 20 years ago.
Speaker G:Hey, that high leg kick he did at the camera.
Speaker C:Yeah, his introduction.
Speaker C:His introduction into the scene where he goes to the.
Speaker C:The clan members house and the Native American vampire hunters come there.
Speaker C:They.
Speaker C:The.
Speaker C:The physical embodiment of.
Speaker E:All right, I told you what, right?
Speaker E:They said, let me get.
Speaker E:Let me get out of here, bro.
Speaker E:No, because literally right after that, and I know a lot of people mentioned some things about that scene, and I was like, that's so interesting.
Speaker E:But, yeah, I mean, they had every right to go to home.
Speaker C:It was just like they set up there.
Speaker C:They.
Speaker C:They said what they had to say.
Speaker C:Old boy peeked in there, seen that hood and that gown.
Speaker C:He was like.
Speaker C:And this boy said, hey, the sun is setting.
Speaker E:We got exactly.
Speaker E:Oh, boy.
Speaker E:Didn't say, hey, but we need to save them.
Speaker E:He said, hey, y'all have a good night.
Speaker C:May God bless you.
Speaker C:And we have.
Speaker E:He got on the horse, twist around and then left.
Speaker E:No, that's what I was trying to remember.
Speaker E:The skedaddler.
Speaker E:That man.
Speaker E:There's a Jamaican man that does videos about Irish dancing.
Speaker E:He'd be like, they skedaddling.
Speaker E:He's like, these are the amazing.
Speaker F:I know what you're talking about.
Speaker E:I know exactly what you're talking about.
Speaker C:That's why I'm laughing so hard.
Speaker G:Because he does.
Speaker C:He does say whimsical sk.
Speaker F:And I lost it.
Speaker E:No, because all the freaking.
Speaker E:The posts about the movie, they were like.
Speaker E:All I could think is seeing the Jason, whatever his name Is Jack when he was doing his thing that all I could think is, was the Jamaican man, that's Goodaller.
Speaker E:And I was like, that was me in the.
Speaker F:The accent didn't help in it either at all.
Speaker C:He says, oh, look at him.
Speaker C:The whips got skedaddling.
Speaker C:I'm like, oh God, no, no.
Speaker E:Because his commentary is too much.
Speaker E:He's like, oh, this.
Speaker F:Okay, that guy.
Speaker G:That's him.
Speaker F:That's the one.
Speaker C:Oh my God.
Speaker C:So.
Speaker F:But no, it's.
Speaker C:I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker C:Remic was spitting a good game.
Speaker C:Because when first off, when the juke joint opens and they come up there, him, he, he's already turned the two clans people, they come up there and they're playing their banjos and I'm like, like I'm already seeing the messages.
Speaker C:And then they see Mary and they're just like, oh, well she's in there and they're like, she family.
Speaker C:So.
Speaker C:But when, when it all blows over, when it all starts going down, he's talking a good game and he's not lying about the Irish heritage and the black heritage.
Speaker C:He's not lying like those, they were the same, the same routes.
Speaker C:But he was just.
Speaker C:But at the same time I'm like, but dude, you, you doing some stuff.
Speaker E:That I can't tear up no more.
Speaker E:Please stop, bro.
Speaker C:Oh my God.
Speaker B:I'd like, I'd like the crowd to know the show.
Speaker B:You admitted to crying.
Speaker B:Who are you?
Speaker E:I'm crying because it's that funny.
Speaker E:Like my eyes are like probably red, bro.
Speaker B:Yeah, I keep forgetting because at first I thought he was basically just saying like, hey, you can either go with us or you can go with them.
Speaker B:Either way your life will be hell.
Speaker B:I.
Speaker B:I keep forgetting the Irish have their own whole history that somewhat kind of.
Speaker B:I didn't, I didn't get an info dump until the queen kicked the bucket.
Speaker B:So I was.
Speaker E:Amen.
Speaker C:I wanna, I wanna touch on something else in this film that gets.
Speaker C:That has it.
Speaker C:I'm surprised.
Speaker C:I'm just now starting to hear me.
Speaker C:Masako.
Speaker E:Amazing.
Speaker G:Her favorite part.
Speaker C:I'm so glad Coogler has shown a dark skinned black.
Speaker C:Black woman plus size woman.
Speaker G:My fan fiction dreams come true.
Speaker F:And no wait.
Speaker C:This is what I love about so they're denied.
Speaker C:This is, this is completely different.
Speaker C:This is how you know the brothers are completely different.
Speaker C:Stacks relationship with Mary is completely different than smokes with Annie.
Speaker C:When he comes by there to Annie's and he puts the flowers on the grave, he said, papa's home and everything he's on there.
Speaker C:In there talking to Annie.
Speaker C:There isn't any hate.
Speaker C:Like, there isn't any respite.
Speaker C:You could tell that whatever happened to their child is what separated them, plus going to Chicago.
Speaker C:But he didn't hesitate for a second and telling her that he loved her.
Speaker C:And she didn't hesitate neither.
Speaker C:And when she hit you with that line and that in that tongue, your body didn't forget me.
Speaker E:He did hesitate because he looked at her and said.
Speaker E:He said, you gonna.
Speaker E:You really gonna make me say it?
Speaker E:Do I really gotta say it?
Speaker E:And she looked at him, he said, I love.
Speaker E:You know I love you.
Speaker C:That's a.
Speaker F:That's a bar, though.
Speaker F:Did your body forget.
Speaker B:God dang.
Speaker B:She wasn't gonna play with.
Speaker B:She wasn't gonna play with the ax.
Speaker B:She was like, yeah, this.
Speaker B:This.
Speaker E:She said, use your words.
Speaker C:That's.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker G:Communication is key.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker G:Words.
Speaker F:She knew it.
Speaker C:She knew it, but she needs to hear it.
Speaker E:Which I can respect.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because I.
Speaker B:I get.
Speaker B:I put all the protections on you.
Speaker B:You can be vulnerable in here.
Speaker B:My whole thing is.
Speaker B:My thing is, like, was there a door to close?
Speaker B:Because them kids was like, what, three footsteps outside the house?
Speaker G:Them little niggs went the.
Speaker B:On you better.
Speaker E:They bought their product and they left.
Speaker E:They had.
Speaker B:I'm just saying.
Speaker B:But like.
Speaker B:I'm just saying, they went down the street where you can probably still see down the road and in the door.
Speaker B:Like, what they doing back there?
Speaker G:For one, two, three things.
Speaker G:What you looking back for?
Speaker G:You got them.
Speaker G:Bye, Deuces.
Speaker D:You are ruining the moment.
Speaker C:I love.
Speaker C:I love that they showed that scene with them, too.
Speaker C:That show, like.
Speaker C:Yeah, it was.
Speaker C:It was the death of their child.
Speaker C:That's what I took away from it.
Speaker C:It was the death of their child that broke them down.
Speaker G:Oh, yeah.
Speaker C:You know, because he.
Speaker B:He.
Speaker C:He.
Speaker C:When they got time, he came straight.
Speaker C:He got the business stuff out the way, but he was like, I got one.
Speaker C:I got another stop I gotta make.
Speaker C:It ain't because she can fry fish.
Speaker C:It's just.
Speaker C:I know she can fry fish.
Speaker C:I know she can do some other stuff.
Speaker C:I know where I need to go.
Speaker G:I just need her to skin a snake real quick.
Speaker B:What.
Speaker C:What.
Speaker B:What do you have, Will?
Speaker B:What do you have?
Speaker E:What do you have?
Speaker E:Please go.
Speaker C:Please.
Speaker H:I don't know why we all just let this happen.
Speaker H:If you're what happen.
Speaker H:I want to put my finger on something else and then put a picture of Hunter B15 up there.
Speaker C:I did find the button.
Speaker H:That bar.
Speaker H:That bar.
Speaker H:Any drop, your body ain't forget me.
Speaker H:Listen, fold it like the butter in the croissant.
Speaker C:I'm telling you.
Speaker E:Look, I.
Speaker E:I was.
Speaker E:I went to the 10am screening of the movie, and that scene had me looking over, like, as if somebody was sitting next to me, because I was like, did she.
Speaker D:Did you say that?
Speaker E:There was probably three people in my theater.
Speaker E:Okay.
Speaker E:But they was nowhere near me.
Speaker E:And that scene had me.
Speaker E:I was like.
Speaker C:Well, look, I.
Speaker C:Look, I looked at my wife and did like this.
Speaker C:That words do it every time.
Speaker F:So apparently.
Speaker F:So apparently in this movie theater, all the ladies lean forward when they heard that.
Speaker C:The ladies lean forward in the middle.
Speaker C:They had a reason.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker C:But because she.
Speaker B:Yes, but because she basically pulled his card because for, like, 30 minutes, we watched him basically play, like, the gangster with decorum from old school days.
Speaker B:And then she came here and just tore all of that down in the span of, like, 10 seconds.
Speaker C:Okay, I know who you are.
Speaker C:He never lost that for her.
Speaker C:She gave him that.
Speaker C:The hoodoo bag for protection.
Speaker C:And like, she.
Speaker G:You might be a big dog out there in them streets, but when you come home.
Speaker F:Yeah, that part.
Speaker C:Know who you serve?
Speaker F:Know who you serve?
Speaker B:No, I'm blanking on the.
Speaker E:No.
Speaker E:Like, honestly, I feel like you've had to at least see the still picture of this by now.
Speaker E:US Spartan.
Speaker E:But if you haven't, just know that the face that that man made in that, like, before anything happens.
Speaker E:But the face that he makes when she kind of says that is like a.
Speaker E:Okay, this is not porn at all.
Speaker E:But, like, he.
Speaker E:He made a face that was just like.
Speaker E:I don't think I thought I was gonna see Michael B.
Speaker E:Jordan make that face with his mouth again.
Speaker E:I didn't think that I was gonna see it.
Speaker E:Like, so.
Speaker F:So good to know.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So basically.
Speaker B:Basically, out in the streets you smoke in.
Speaker B:In this house, your name is Elijah.
Speaker B:Knock it off.
Speaker G:100, correct.
Speaker E:Know what your mama named you?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:And I look, I loved that for them.
Speaker C:I'm like, yeah, that's.
Speaker C:That's black love.
Speaker C:That's black love.
Speaker B:But, yeah, today just said, really whoopty.
Speaker E:We don't do nicknames.
Speaker E:What did she say?
Speaker E:She said, don't get that smoke over here.
Speaker H:Nobody.
Speaker E:Elijah.
Speaker B:But yeah, that when she said his.
Speaker C:Name, when she said, we attend the.
Speaker G:Same church, I fully.
Speaker G:I.
Speaker G:I can co.
Speaker G:Sign.
Speaker B:But that.
Speaker B:That's kind of what I liked about their whole thing is, like, it wasn't just.
Speaker B:All right, let's find a reason to get her naked on camera.
Speaker B:They.
Speaker B:They at least have.
Speaker B:Did Like a tasteful version of their.
Speaker B:Their whole.
Speaker C:That I can appreciate that so much.
Speaker H:Was a very nasty ass.
Speaker F:Movie.
Speaker C:Movie.
Speaker C:It really was.
Speaker B:It really was.
Speaker D:Being bent over, but fully.
Speaker C:Fully cloth.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker B:That's what I'm saying.
Speaker B:Fully fully clothed.
Speaker B:We got work to do.
Speaker B:But, like, I still miss and like, very representative of them old school relationships.
Speaker E:100%.
Speaker C:We.
Speaker B:We didn't break up.
Speaker C:You were.
Speaker B:You were gone for seven years, and I was hoping you'd come back.
Speaker B:Some people did, some people didn't.
Speaker B:So I'm not sure.
Speaker E:No, because sometimes it was painful.
Speaker G:Easy.
Speaker G:It was.
Speaker G:It was.
Speaker F:I was like, oh, I would take.
Speaker G:My mama to see this movie.
Speaker C:You don't get that?
Speaker E:No.
Speaker C:Speaking of which.
Speaker C:No, wait, hold on.
Speaker E:Tasteful.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Because Tafari went to see the movie with his mother.
Speaker C:Were you.
Speaker C:Question.
Speaker C:Were you feeling weird at that scene?
Speaker B:Now, she.
Speaker B:My dad sat between both of us, so that's crazy.
Speaker F:Was it?
Speaker C:I.
Speaker C:I don't.
Speaker F:Look, I can only imagine.
Speaker F:I know if I'm watching a seat with my parents, it's still awkward as hell to me.
Speaker E:It ain't awkward for me.
Speaker C:It's definitely not an awkward moment.
Speaker C:It's not because you.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker C:It wasn't an awkward moment.
Speaker C:It was so.
Speaker C:But it was a beautiful.
Speaker C:It was.
Speaker C:What do you want to say?
Speaker C:It was raw and raunchy.
Speaker E:It was simple way.
Speaker E:It was very simple.
Speaker E:Like, there was nothing crazy that happened.
Speaker E:Like, my thing was, people were saying, oh, we got to see such and such.
Speaker E:Get her black blown out.
Speaker E:Me sitting here.
Speaker E:Like, do y'all know what getting your black back.
Speaker E:Back.
Speaker E:Blown out looks like?
Speaker E:Because that's not what we saw.
Speaker G:Okay.
Speaker E:It was nice.
Speaker E:It did what it needed to do.
Speaker E:But, like, it was not.
Speaker E:It was not anything crazy.
Speaker E:Like, it was simple.
Speaker E:It was done.
Speaker E:It did what it needed to do.
Speaker E:It showed what it needed to show.
Speaker H:What's the rating?
Speaker H:Show, Yo.
Speaker H:What's the reason?
Speaker E:The rating?
Speaker E:I mean, I definitely.
Speaker C:I mean, if you want a 10.
Speaker H:Of backs blown out.
Speaker H:What's the.
Speaker E:Oh, it's given very much.
Speaker E:Like five, you know, it doesn't mean it wasn't good.
Speaker E:I tried to be nice.
Speaker B:No, no, no.
Speaker E:That's a three, but I can give you a three.
Speaker E:There we go.
Speaker G:If there was like a shoulder, a hand on the shoulder.
Speaker E:It was very simple.
Speaker E:It was simple.
Speaker E:Okay.
Speaker E:It was loving as well as lusty.
Speaker E:I.
Speaker E:Christy is perfect.
Speaker B:Here.
Speaker B:Here's the.
Speaker B:Here's the better question.
Speaker B:Do you prefer that or the Bloodbath Bang out from Lovecraft Craft.
Speaker B:Which one would you rather see?
Speaker E:Let me.
Speaker E:Let me tell you, because the other.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:Remember that's the last time we saw her do anything like that.
Speaker B:Also, she's an unofficial screen queen.
Speaker B:We love you.
Speaker C:That's.
Speaker C:That's true.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:You know, also what makes me think that also I think that's.
Speaker B:It's also her being here and being the juju person also makes me think Smoke is definitely supposed to be majors before.
Speaker B:What happened?
Speaker E:No, not at all.
Speaker G:He said it was not only ever had Michael in mind for this part.
Speaker G:He said.
Speaker B:I feel like that's the plan.
Speaker B:I feel like that's the.
Speaker B:That's the plan.
Speaker C:Now.
Speaker G:He would have said that he's not afraid to tell the truth.
Speaker B:I know he's not.
Speaker B:But I'm saying the fact that they.
Speaker E:Were twins really did something for the movie.
Speaker E:I really don't think think that that was.
Speaker E:And actually I know because he did say it.
Speaker E:He said, nah, this was always supposed to be one.
Speaker E:It was supposed to be twins.
Speaker E:So the fact that it was Michael, I.
Speaker E:I mean, because people honestly people throwing majors all through this movie and I think it's unfair to Michael as much as a person.
Speaker E:For me, I don't really.
Speaker E:I mean, I know Michael can act.
Speaker E:I can't take that from him.
Speaker E:But I've never been like, oh, I'm a Michael B.
Speaker E:Jordan fan.
Speaker E:He can act.
Speaker E:But this movie definitely was given like, like, hey, I really enjoyed his role.
Speaker C:He.
Speaker E:He did a great job.
Speaker E:And so for people to be throwing, I'd be like, I'm just sitting here, like, just let Michael, like, it was just Michael.
Speaker B:It was just taking anything away from Michael.
Speaker B:It's just once we heard the movie was coming and saw that relationship building and then that happened.
Speaker B:The timing.
Speaker B:Who are fellow co stars in it and like similar stuff.
Speaker B:At any point, if there was a role for him and it's like, yeah, he's been in these shoes before, it would have fit him perfectly.
Speaker B:No one's saying he would overshadow Michael.
Speaker E:I don't think so.
Speaker G:Because if, if.
Speaker G:Let's say that this thing never like that whole incident with him never happened.
Speaker G:Marvel would not let him do this movie.
Speaker G:They would not.
Speaker G:And have him come back as he would never.
Speaker F:Too much been too much.
Speaker F:Might have been too much.
Speaker C:Okay, moving on.
Speaker C:Probably it probably would have been moving.
Speaker G:On because none of, none of the other people that have done movies with Marvel have done anything risk like wrong.
Speaker C:Yeah, right, right.
Speaker C:But I mean, except, except, except Haley Steinfeld I'm crying.
Speaker G:He's.
Speaker E:Sony.
Speaker E:She's not really.
Speaker D:Yeah, That's.
Speaker D:Son.
Speaker E:That's.
Speaker E:And does it count if she's not actually on screen?
Speaker H:That's my cousin.
Speaker E:She's not actually on screen either.
Speaker B:We got B15 in there, though.
Speaker B:She's clearly gonna be important, guys.
Speaker C:She's.
Speaker H:She's Hawkeye.
Speaker G:Stop it.
Speaker C:Yeah, okay.
Speaker C:She is Hawkeye.
Speaker C:She's Cap.
Speaker F:She's.
Speaker F:She's also.
Speaker F:She's also a napkin.
Speaker C:They will look at her differently when she shows up again.
Speaker C:It's okay.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:In the history of movies, you usually don't get in trouble until after this type of stuff comes out.
Speaker E:I mean, she'll be.
Speaker E:I should.
Speaker E:She'll be fine.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:Oh, she would be fine.
Speaker B:I'm talking about our previous mentioned person.
Speaker B:Like, usually the phone doesn't stop ringing until after they see your role.
Speaker B:Like Brandon T.
Speaker B:Jackson after Lottery Ticket.
Speaker C:So Haley Steinfeld's role in here.
Speaker E:She did her job.
Speaker C:She did her job.
Speaker C:And there's a.
Speaker C:And there's a line that she pulls.
Speaker B:There's a couple that.
Speaker C:I'm like, oh, God, can I say.
Speaker E:It, or are we not gonna say it?
Speaker C:No, go ahead.
Speaker C:Because it was like, you talking about, oh, my.
Speaker C:You.
Speaker E:You out.
Speaker E:You out in Chicago robbing trains, but you can't route this for a night?
Speaker E:Or this.
Speaker E:I can't remember.
Speaker C:Yeah, I was like.
Speaker E:I was.
Speaker C:Like.
Speaker E:I said, okay.
Speaker E:I mean, that's not my type of time.
Speaker C:But it's a folding line.
Speaker C:It's definitely a folding line.
Speaker F:Can you read that line back one more time?
Speaker B:Like, cover her ears?
Speaker E:She said, you.
Speaker E:So you can rob trains in Chicago all day and night, but you can't rob this for a night because she's married.
Speaker E:That's.
Speaker E:That's the thing.
Speaker E:So she's technically married.
Speaker G:No, not technically.
Speaker E:Yes, she's married.
Speaker E:It's not a.
Speaker E:It's not a loving man.
Speaker E:Basically, what I'm trying to say.
Speaker C:Hold it.
Speaker C:Yeah, right then.
Speaker C:Mayhem.
Speaker C:You are correct once again.
Speaker C:It's a line that will fold the strongest person, I think, for.
Speaker E:For her situation, it's like, I kind of.
Speaker E:I get it.
Speaker E:I mean, she's.
Speaker E:She straddling the line already, and then she's married to a.
Speaker E:A white man.
Speaker E:Not on the hand of her decision, so.
Speaker E:And we never get to see that man, which is great, but it's also just like.
Speaker E:It's.
Speaker E:It's like I give her a pass just because of the.
Speaker E:The times and how she was already passing for a reason.
Speaker C:She was Considered a malignant.
Speaker C:She was.
Speaker C:She was white passing.
Speaker C:Because I think they said it was her grandfather.
Speaker C:That was her mother was at.
Speaker E:Right.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So she was white passing for that time.
Speaker C:That's what.
Speaker C:That was a lot of talk.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So it was stacked.
Speaker C:That was.
Speaker E:Man, he folded.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:He definitely.
Speaker F:I'm assuming he did.
Speaker C:Yeah, he.
Speaker C:But see, in their relationship, their relationship was different because he was like.
Speaker C:Like, I cannot be seen.
Speaker C:I love you, but I cannot be seen with you because I will be dead.
Speaker G:Yeah.
Speaker G:All it was.
Speaker B:It.
Speaker G:All it takes is one person in town to think you are what you ain't.
Speaker E:Right.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker G:And her.
Speaker E:But also, I mean, I can acknowledge.
Speaker E:I mean, Stack also was scared.
Speaker E:Like, Stack didn't want.
Speaker E:No.
Speaker E:I mean, he ran off in the same way.
Speaker E:I'm not saying he was scared to be with her.
Speaker E:I'm saying he was scared of the responsibility.
Speaker E:In my opinion.
Speaker E:That's what it felt like.
Speaker E:He was scared.
Speaker G:It felt like he knew he would.
Speaker G:I'm so sorry.
Speaker G:It felt like he knew he was a hood and you are too delicate.
Speaker G:I don't want you to be responsibility.
Speaker C:And that's what he said.
Speaker C:That's what he said.
Speaker C:He said.
Speaker C:That's why I pretty much handed you off to who?
Speaker C:Whoever this dude is that she's supposed to be married to.
Speaker C:He was like, he could give you the life I can't give you because you come with me, it's over for me.
Speaker C:It's like.
Speaker C:And not in a good way.
Speaker E:Ending.
Speaker E:Crazier.
Speaker G:Quite.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker G:White because.
Speaker C:Because he did.
Speaker C:It's accepted by that time.
Speaker C:It gets accepted.
Speaker C:It's been, what, decades?
Speaker E:No, but not even that.
Speaker E:It's just, you know, they've.
Speaker G:She dragged.
Speaker G:She dragged him with her.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker E:I mean, they have.
Speaker E:It's no reason at that point to not be together.
Speaker D:Well, anybody who threatens them.
Speaker D:That's the way I took.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Their whole relationship.
Speaker C:They.
Speaker B:The brothers got.
Speaker B:Mirroring relationships.
Speaker B:One is honest and the other one is playing like they don't like each other.
Speaker B:But meanwhile, all the marriages in this movie felt like business transactions or they got a mister waiting at home.
Speaker B:I'm saying outside of the.
Speaker B:Outside of the.
Speaker B:That's what I'm saying.
Speaker B:Outside the Asian couple.
Speaker B:It's just like they say they got one that's almost like a status or like a husband you don't want to be with.
Speaker B:But even Sammy's girl.
Speaker B:I'm like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:I'm like.
Speaker B:I'm like.
Speaker B:I'm like.
Speaker B:I'm like pearling kind of young And Sammy kind of young.
Speaker C:Ain't no.
Speaker C:Ain't no kind of.
Speaker C:With pearling.
Speaker C:Ain't ain't no kind of.
Speaker C:Because that train scene, I was like, yo, wait a minute.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because the way she talked about her husband, I'm like, your husband is like Mr.
Speaker B:From Color Purple or something.
Speaker B:It's like some old dude you got shipped off with because we don't see him the whole movie.
Speaker B:But, like, neither one of those women speak about their husband positively.
Speaker C:Played by Jamie Lawson.
Speaker C:But it's also.
Speaker E:It's the 30s.
Speaker F:That's.
Speaker B:That's also.
Speaker E:If we're gonna be honest about what marriages look like in the 30s, and especially since we're talking about the south of Mississippi.
Speaker E:And.
Speaker E:Yeah, we see people in sharecropping because we could talk about Cornbread's ass and his wife.
Speaker E:And so you see all the different types of dynamics of marriage.
Speaker E:I mean, they didn't.
Speaker E:Women couldn't have nothing.
Speaker E:Still at that time.
Speaker C:It's enlightening.
Speaker C:I think.
Speaker C:I don't know.
Speaker C:I think it was.
Speaker C:Who was a Spartan of Tafara that realized who she was, because I kept trying to figure out who she was.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:She's the mayor from Gotham.
Speaker C:Gotham in the Penguin and the Batman.
Speaker H:Hey, imagine.
Speaker H:Imagine.
Speaker C:I'm not gonna.
Speaker C:I'm not gonna hold you, lady Mandalore.
Speaker C:I'm not gonna hold you, lady Mandy Lord.
Speaker G:What I.
Speaker C:Do I.
Speaker C:I think she might be a contender.
Speaker C:Don't you?
Speaker G:Don't.
Speaker G:Relax.
Speaker C:No, I'm serious.
Speaker C:She gotta look.
Speaker C:She's got an aesthetic.
Speaker G:No, no, no.
Speaker G:Relax.
Speaker G:She's the new.
Speaker C:She's new and up and coming.
Speaker C:She's got the look.
Speaker C:She's got an aesthetic.
Speaker B:Sick.
Speaker C:No, I'm not gonna knock it.
Speaker G:Storm is needs to be a woman of a certain age if they're going young, cute for, like, young Storm.
Speaker G:I don't do this.
Speaker G:Don't do this.
Speaker E:Not right.
Speaker C:They're not gonna.
Speaker C:They're not gonna go.
Speaker C:They're not gonna go with a matured.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker G:No, when I say lady of a certain age, I mean, like, hey, she's.
Speaker C:Not gonna be stor.
Speaker H:Let's get to Sammy and Perlene, because.
Speaker C:This was.
Speaker H:In, in, in.
Speaker H:When you go from boy to man, like, that was.
Speaker H:That was an exceptional gentleman.
Speaker C:That made me laugh.
Speaker F:I'm sorry.
Speaker C:That scene made me laugh because he said, let me try something real quick.
Speaker C:And Stack was out.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Let me tell you.
Speaker C:And Stack was outside that dough.
Speaker C:And he heard it, and he heard it.
Speaker C:And I said, he's like, my Boy found that button.
Speaker H:Specific fact that she tried to be a lady with her foolishness was like, hey, listen, I've been out here all day.
Speaker H:I walked over here.
Speaker H:Let me go freshen up.
Speaker H:He's just like, now where?
Speaker E:That's crazy.
Speaker H:Let me do what I do.
Speaker C:He folded.
Speaker E:No, because it was the whole subtle.
Speaker E:Like that whole scene was.
Speaker E:I was like, yeah.
Speaker C:The man likes Tang is what I'm saying.
Speaker C:He likes Tang.
Speaker C:It's all right.
Speaker C:Like little seasonings.
Speaker E:It was the.
Speaker E:The slow fall back.
Speaker E:I was like, look, you know, they.
Speaker E:They did the whole.
Speaker B:Again.
Speaker B:Again, though painfully.
Speaker B:It's not just a reason to strip people naked on camera.
Speaker E:I mean, but it makes sense for the piece.
Speaker E:I mean, they wasn't getting naked.
Speaker E:That's it.
Speaker B:I know what I'm saying.
Speaker B:I mean, we don't know how much further it went once the camera cut back.
Speaker H:Put the photo back up real quick of her.
Speaker H:Explain something.
Speaker E:Everybody go to the.
Speaker G:Everybody in the corner.
Speaker E:I'm looking.
Speaker E:Everybody.
Speaker H:That center.
Speaker H:That center photo.
Speaker H:That's the after.
Speaker H:That's how he had.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:That.
Speaker B:That is the part where all the lady.
Speaker B:She was on stage performing and drinking and cutting up.
Speaker D:Y'all are way too excited.
Speaker E:I saw a video today, and this girl on Tick Tock said.
Speaker E:She said, if there's one thing that y'all should have learned from this movie, she said, it's to eat that cat.
Speaker E:And I ain't saying nothing else.
Speaker E:I said, let me turn this off.
Speaker B:Because you see how she was cutting up after.
Speaker B:Because we didn't see how far it went.
Speaker B:We just see them coming out the room later, and suddenly everybody's all performance ready and loosing loose as a goose and cutting up a rug.
Speaker B:And then I just.
Speaker B:I like how it build up, because that is like, that.
Speaker B:That's somewhat.
Speaker B:Is what it's like growing up with like older male cousins and uncles.
Speaker B:They'd be talking to you about nonsense.
Speaker C:They were having a good time, man.
Speaker C:I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker C:They were having a blast.
Speaker B:I don't know if he.
Speaker B:He meant the end credit scene or like their conversation in the car.
Speaker B:I know he said.
Speaker B:Said one of those was improv, but.
Speaker G:Like, oh, that car scene was a thousand percent improv.
Speaker E:You talk about D was improv.
Speaker C:You talking about.
Speaker G:You talking about licking the ice cream.
Speaker G:Licking the ice cream.
Speaker G:I promise you.
Speaker B:Because there's a scene that Delroy is talking about.
Speaker B:He's like, well, the whole thing in the car was kind of improv.
Speaker B:And I don't know if he was talking about himself.
Speaker C:Oh, when he was telling that story.
Speaker E:I feel like it was him when he was telling that story, because.
Speaker F:Okay.
Speaker B:Because I was like.
Speaker B:He kind of like, like, perfect.
Speaker B:I missed some of the details because, like, I'm hearing it when he's telling.
Speaker E:The story about his friend that was killed basically in the car when they're on the way after getting picked up.
Speaker G:Oh, you talking about Delroy?
Speaker E:Yeah.
Speaker G:Oh, my bad.
Speaker E:I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker B:That all happens in the same car.
Speaker B:Is him, Slim and Slim and Sammy.
Speaker B:And they're all.
Speaker B:All of that happens in one car ride.
Speaker B:So I'm like, which part of that was improv?
Speaker B:Because if it was that conversation, I'm like, yeah, that's like me in the car with my older cousins and uncles.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:Yeah, you're just like, all right, get out of my face.
Speaker B:I know y'all just trying to be funny.
Speaker B:But then when the moment arrives, you start thinking, like, was there anything they said true?
Speaker B:Sammy, Meanwhile, Sam.
Speaker B:And then Sammy having that happen.
Speaker B:The fact that Smoke is on the other side of the door.
Speaker B:The fact that some.
Speaker B:The fact that somebody else has to take over the door.
Speaker E:Watch.
Speaker B:He's like, check out my little cousin.
Speaker B:Like, he's having his.
Speaker B:His proud father moment.
Speaker B:And then Delroy, when he's like, hey, go get Smoke.
Speaker B:He's like, he.
Speaker B:And he's like, yeah, he's in the room.
Speaker B:Oh, he kind of busy, huh?
Speaker G:It's.
Speaker B:It's all those little nuances happening back to back.
Speaker B:I'm like, this is like a whole family type of party.
Speaker B:The one invited white friend.
Speaker B:Like, everything about that was just giving family vibes and just comfortable until get gets crazy soon after.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:So you want to talk about a breakout star, Miles Kon.
Speaker E:He can sing.
Speaker C:He got first acting role, and he pro.
Speaker C:He's actually been on tour with.
Speaker C:With her since he was 16.
Speaker C:This.
Speaker C:And she told him, go try out for this role.
Speaker C:He did not know how to play guitar.
Speaker C:He just was a singer.
Speaker C:And he got that role and was practicing five hours a day on this guitar.
Speaker G:Well, who better to learn how to play the goddamn guitar than from her?
Speaker C:Thank you.
Speaker C:And let me tell you, that scene.
Speaker C:And if you know the scene I'm.
Speaker G:Talking about, man, all the scenes that he was doing, playing and singing.
Speaker H:Leave some meat on the bones.
Speaker C:So he's playing.
Speaker F:He's playing this song touching my pearls the entire time.
Speaker F:Go for it.
Speaker B:Look, there's a scene.
Speaker C:This scene he's playing in that scene I just started, that was his that was his big moment, right?
Speaker C:And he's playing the song, and then all of a sudden, you see the ancestors, you see hip hop dancers, you see crunk, you see twerking, you see Asian influence dancers.
Speaker C:You start seeing Irish.
Speaker C:It start all these cultures mixing.
Speaker C:And you seen DJs.
Speaker C:And I'm like, next thing you know, the roof is on fire.
Speaker C:The next thing you know, the barn is gone and they are all out there dancing.
Speaker C:And I'm like, this is so visual.
Speaker G:I don't.
Speaker C:I'm sitting in the theater and I'm just like, cool, you did it again.
Speaker C:You did it again.
Speaker E:I don't.
Speaker G:I don't know what was wrong with me.
Speaker G:I don't know if this is a part of my brain that just reacts this way.
Speaker G:I literally felt the heat on my face in from that scene.
Speaker G:And I thought I would.
Speaker G:I thought I was having a moment.
Speaker G:Like, what is this?
Speaker G:Is this menopause?
Speaker G:What's going on?
Speaker B:Were you in a 4D experience?
Speaker G:I'm sitting there, I'm crying because of this.
Speaker G:I'm like, what the Is going.
Speaker G:And then the heat, the barn is burning down.
Speaker G:I'm like, why do I feel like.
Speaker G:It felt like.
Speaker G:Like that rolling fire type of situation.
Speaker G:But it was just my face.
Speaker G:Like, everything else was fine.
Speaker G:It was just my face.
Speaker C:That was an.
Speaker C:A powerful scene stating how that music is so influential from so many cultures into so many cultures.
Speaker G:Hi, whale watcher.
Speaker B:Stopping.
Speaker B:Relax.
Speaker G:Thank you for your service.
Speaker C:Lord have mercy.
Speaker B:Y'All.
Speaker B:As much as y'all talk about us being chaotic on this, like, middle to bottom row, y'all have been having a time up here just in not very often weekend.
Speaker E:Ain't nothing wrong with what he said.
Speaker G:Nothing at all.
Speaker C:I was.
Speaker G:I'm very grateful.
Speaker C:So I.
Speaker C:I wanna.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Like, it's not just me.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So I want to add.
Speaker C:I want to ask our cinephile of the crew, because I know there was definitely scenes great that popped in.
Speaker C:What's happening?
Speaker C:Nate Mayhem.
Speaker C:That scene.
Speaker C:Talk to him.
Speaker H:That.
Speaker H:That's the scene where essentially was.
Speaker H:I was almost like, I don't care what happens after this.
Speaker H:This movie's getting five.
Speaker H:Because I legitimately.
Speaker H:Y'all seen the meme we're talking about, like, when you losing that Madden and then the person does this.
Speaker H:They sit up.
Speaker H:That was me.
Speaker H:I legitimately.
Speaker H:As it was unfolding, I sat forward in my seat and was just locked in.
Speaker H:I was like, yo, Coogler is a madman.
Speaker H:Like, how do you.
Speaker C:What.
Speaker H:What makes this come to your brain?
Speaker H:And Then on top of the audacity to show off all of these different eras and different versions of black excellence on screen this way.
Speaker H:But also it's a one shot.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker H:Seamlessly goes from person to person, reveal to reveal, up until the fire and back down to everyone in.
Speaker H:In the ashes.
Speaker H:And I was like, I.
Speaker C:Like, I.
Speaker H:Was like, I.
Speaker H:I don't know if I'm capable of creating something that's like, this scene is worth the price of admission.
Speaker H:Like, that's the scene there where I came back to the chat and I was like, yo, this is, this movie is going to be the reason that we have of future black filmmakers.
Speaker H:This, this scene alone, someone's going to be standing on a stage one day accepting an award and have to be like, yo, shout out to Ryan Coogler.
Speaker H:Because I was da da da da da years old when I seen Sinners and it changed the trajectory of my life.
Speaker H:Like that scene right there.
Speaker C:It.
Speaker H:I don't know if I can be hyperbolic enough about it.
Speaker B:Someone is watching that scene and having their J.
Speaker B:Cole at a Kanye concert moment.
Speaker G:That scene felt like church.
Speaker G:That scene really felt good.
Speaker C:Good church.
Speaker F:Yes, good church.
Speaker C:Like you walked out of there like I got the word.
Speaker E:I feel good, good, good church is.
Speaker G:A very good of community and coming together.
Speaker G:Not like I'm.
Speaker G:I'm running off the.
Speaker G:I'm not a.
Speaker G:But just in the sense of I'm not a church person looking.
Speaker G:I say I would go to that.
Speaker G:I frequent that church on a regular basis.
Speaker G:I love the cinema.
Speaker G:To have that experience that almost out of.
Speaker G:It's not out of body, but you know what I mean?
Speaker G:Out of body experience and a room full of people that I can connect with.
Speaker G:Not the white people.
Speaker G:It's.
Speaker G:It's amazing.
Speaker E:It's amazing.
Speaker C:I, I want to give not just Miles the credit for that scene because good Lord.
Speaker C:I want to give the credit to the cinematographer Autumn Deraul Archipel, first female to shoot in feature film on IMAX 70 millimeter.
Speaker C:So already breaking ground.
Speaker C:I want to give another shout out to Ludwig Gorason, who has teamed up with Coogler on several occasions.
Speaker C:And the scores that this white boy puts out.
Speaker G:I mean, he, he ain't inviting nobody to the cookout, but we gonna feel bad about not letting you in.
Speaker B:Well, we will stand at the gate.
Speaker B:We will have someone bring you out a plate.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker B:That's the best.
Speaker E:No.
Speaker E:Did you learn nothing from the movie?
Speaker D:Tell me he don't get a bite after.
Speaker E:Did you see what did you see what happened?
Speaker B:I'm saying the same.
Speaker E:Put his hand outside.
Speaker B:I'm saying the same thing I said during that scene.
Speaker B:You to put him on the ground and slide it past the bear.
Speaker B:He can't come in, but he can accept it from the other side.
Speaker G:Yeah, those grabber thingies.
Speaker G:Here, baby.
Speaker D:Thank you, Lizzy.
Speaker C:It's one of them things where you just, like, you give.
Speaker C:You give him several to go plates, like.
Speaker C:No, you.
Speaker C:You did.
Speaker C:All right.
Speaker B:You did.
Speaker B:He can't come.
Speaker B:He can't come in and get him.
Speaker B:But just.
Speaker B:We'll deliver him to the door.
Speaker B:You can.
Speaker C:And you.
Speaker C:And you gonna get the good pieces.
Speaker C:Don't worry.
Speaker B:You gonna get.
Speaker C:You gonna get some extra Mac and cheese.
Speaker C:You're getting that.
Speaker C:That's good.
Speaker G:I'll leave.
Speaker G:I'll leave something for you in the work fridge with your name.
Speaker B:Hilton.
Speaker B:With the.
Speaker B:So you tell me none of them people had a fish fry tickets to go play home after they all got kicked out.
Speaker E:I really.
Speaker E:So the only grace I give them for that is the fact that.
Speaker E:I mean, we all know what happened during that time.
Speaker E:And it's also the fact that Delroy did not tell them what they actually told them to do in the room.
Speaker E:Delroy told them to go ahead and get on, but that's not what they told him to tell them when they were in the room.
Speaker E:So that.
Speaker E:So when they left and everything, you know, that's also made me think about, dang, they all left when maybe they could all stay.
Speaker E:But Darrow told them to, you know, to Going on now.
Speaker E:Just.
Speaker E:Just get on.
Speaker E:So it's like, ain't no time.
Speaker E:Ain't no time to get no plate.
Speaker E:You finna get kicked out.
Speaker B:Look, that's the.
Speaker B:That's the part where the old drunk kicks in.
Speaker B:All right?
Speaker B:You can only.
Speaker B:He already wasn't supposed to be watching the damn dough.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker C:He's like, what kind of door watching are you doing?
Speaker C:He was not happy.
Speaker C:We gotta talk about watching the door because Omar, come on, man.
Speaker C:He did a fantastic.
Speaker B:I love him as cornbread.
Speaker E:I like the kindness speech he gave.
Speaker E:I was like, he is pulling out of thin air.
Speaker B:I didn't.
Speaker C:I was supposed to just be getting along.
Speaker B:No, once he was out there, we.
Speaker B:We doing what we got.
Speaker B:Got to do.
Speaker B:I'm like, negro, the party is over.
Speaker E:No, because he Pa.
Speaker E:It was the pause.
Speaker E:He was like, well, we all friends.
Speaker E:Yeah, like.
Speaker G:Like it was giving.
Speaker G:It was giving Candace Owens a little bit.
Speaker C:That's why.
Speaker C:That's why Annie was like, You've been in and out this door all day.
Speaker C:Why we got.
Speaker C:You can push your behind past both of us.
Speaker C:What's the problem?
Speaker B:My whole thing was just like, so y'all.
Speaker B:So we just gonna put the money in his hand.
Speaker B:We can't just like, once again, any proven.
Speaker C:Be careful.
Speaker C:She said it.
Speaker C:Be careful.
Speaker C:And what happened?
Speaker G:And I shout out to Annie for being like, no, no, don't talk.
Speaker E:What happened?
Speaker E:Don't talk to him.
Speaker B:Yeah, that's also why I appreciate, like, her being there.
Speaker B:Because, like, they had a whole, like, that part.
Speaker C:I was like, you could have just went to the side or to the back.
Speaker C:You didn't have to go.
Speaker B:Better question, why do we have have to see it from that angle for so long?
Speaker B:Cuz, after a while.
Speaker B:After a while.
Speaker B:After a while.
Speaker E:After the buzz and then the keep going.
Speaker E:No, the sound and the keep going.
Speaker C:Yeah, it did.
Speaker B:It was.
Speaker E:Cuz it's like I was sitting there like, you've been at this door the whole time.
Speaker B:How.
Speaker E:How you been drinking as much, Right?
Speaker B:The sound was funny.
Speaker B:It was just like.
Speaker B:It was like awkward laugh.
Speaker B:It was like, awkward.
Speaker B:It was funny laughter.
Speaker B:And then it was just like, all right, man, like, put it away.
Speaker B:Like, can y'all switch this shot up, please?
Speaker B:And then you kind of.
Speaker B:I can't tell.
Speaker B:I can't tell if it's the lighting or if you actually could see them in the bushes behind them.
Speaker B:Because you hear them come, but you never see.
Speaker G:Like, they were like.
Speaker G:They were like two.
Speaker E:You can see like.
Speaker B:Yeah, they cut it so quick.
Speaker B:I couldn't tell.
Speaker B:Oh, no.
Speaker B:Because you could hear them wrestling around.
Speaker B:But what was throwing me was I.
Speaker H:Never want to be attacked with my man's out.
Speaker H:That's terrible.
Speaker B:That, that.
Speaker B:That's another thing.
Speaker B:Especially if I, you know, he got.
Speaker E:To put it back in.
Speaker E:What you mean?
Speaker B:No, apparently not.
Speaker H:Listen, I'ma speak for all the gentlemen on the panel real quick.
Speaker D:I.
Speaker D:I agree with you.
Speaker H:You scared and trying to put your drain away that you might zip slip and get killed.
Speaker H:That's a terrible way to go.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:You're not trying to Frank and the bean.
Speaker C:The Frank and the beans.
Speaker B:You're not trying to die with.
Speaker B:With a half leaking bladder.
Speaker B:Like, look at.
Speaker E:Hey, man, y'all.
Speaker E:You ain't.
Speaker E:You don't know.
Speaker E:You don't even feel death at that point.
Speaker E:Back to life.
Speaker B:Okay?
Speaker B:But in my cold body, the only thing that's warming me now is my own fluid.
Speaker B:You didn't let me finish with.
Speaker B:So that's.
Speaker B:That's not fun.
Speaker E:Now you ain't even got to worry about peeing.
Speaker E:You.
Speaker E:You hide mine now.
Speaker E:It don't even matter.
Speaker B:I mean, that's a good question, though.
Speaker B:If you.
Speaker B:I mean, that's a good question.
Speaker B:If you die mid p.
Speaker B:Does it finish or does it just evaporate?
Speaker D:Like, oh, my God.
Speaker H:Now you have, like, she said, like, you gang.
Speaker E:Now, literally, they was all gang.
Speaker B:But, like, I also did like that he.
Speaker B:People like him did at least do, like, their own backstory for this movie because he feels like I found, you know, some of my friends.
Speaker B:He knew.
Speaker C:He knew his back.
Speaker C:He knew his actual back background, like, 100.
Speaker C:His.
Speaker C:His father and his grandfather were sharecroppers.
Speaker C:So he was just that.
Speaker C:One step away from knowing what that was about, which was.
Speaker C:Which is exactly a cool thing.
Speaker B:And he said that's why he wanted the hat, because that's, like old photos of them.
Speaker B:That's how they used to dress with the overalls, the sharecropper hat.
Speaker C:So, yeah, he'll never get that.
Speaker C:That.
Speaker C:That.
Speaker C:That lip service like, he was looking for.
Speaker C:That's what brought him onto the job in the first place.
Speaker C:He's like, yeah, if you.
Speaker C:If your.
Speaker C:If your wife knew how much money you was gonna come home with.
Speaker E:All right, now, that was funny when he said, you got.
Speaker E:He said, you got a good woman.
Speaker E:I said.
Speaker E:Because she said, just go.
Speaker E:She said, he talk about.
Speaker E:About dollars.
Speaker E:We're not talking pennies.
Speaker E:She said, get out of here.
Speaker B:Like, how much money we talking?
Speaker E:Right?
Speaker B:And even then, that was the most healthiest marriage I saw out the entire damn thing outside of.
Speaker B:Of the Asian couple, because at least he was willing to fight for his wife.
Speaker C:The Asian couple, man, he was at.
Speaker B:Least willing to fight for his wife, and his wife was like, well, hold on.
Speaker B:Money's on the line.
Speaker B:Take the job.
Speaker B:You can maybe whoop his ass later if you want to.
Speaker C:Let's talk about the Asian couple.
Speaker C:So it was crazy because they.
Speaker C:They had two stores, one for the black community and one for the white community right across from each other.
Speaker C:Other.
Speaker C:They do everything else.
Speaker C:And.
Speaker C:And while they were in the black community, it wasn't until.
Speaker C:What's her name?
Speaker C:Grace.
Speaker C:What was her name?
Speaker C:No.
Speaker C:Yeah, it was Grace.
Speaker C:It was Grace.
Speaker C:When her husband doesn't come back, I'm like, oh, baby, no, we been new once.
Speaker E:He.
Speaker B:Grace caused.
Speaker B:Caused nationwide teeth sucking in unison.
Speaker B:It was.
Speaker C:Was.
Speaker C:I'm like, Grace, that.
Speaker C:No, he gone.
Speaker C:And it wasn't in.
Speaker C:All she could think about was her daughter.
Speaker C:Everything else Took a back seat.
Speaker E:But so I do like that perspective.
Speaker E:And then also, I know we kind of talked about the other perspective.
Speaker E:You know, we've seen the.
Speaker E:The Asian Tick Tocker who, you know, talks.
Speaker E:Talked about that.
Speaker E:But I also was recognizing the other perspective to that was it's not even just about her kid, but also, like when, you know, he spoke in her language.
Speaker E:Self preservation, for sure.
Speaker E:But also to think about.
Speaker E:Which is why I said when Delroy told them to all leave.
Speaker E:Right.
Speaker E:You.
Speaker E:Now you have all those many people that are now.
Speaker E:And it's like to.
Speaker E:To think that all of those people could absolutely go back to their loved ones instead of staying in.
Speaker E:Hey, Navy.
Speaker E:Instead of staying in this central area to focus on them.
Speaker E:If they have.
Speaker E:If any of them had left, the town would have been.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker E:Because they would not know that any of them were there.
Speaker E:So it wouldn't have even just been about her daughter.
Speaker E:It really would have been all of those people had people to go home to.
Speaker E:If any of them left, it would have been over for the town.
Speaker E:Which I think is an interesting perspective, too.
Speaker C:Christy Christie is now security at the cookout.
Speaker C:We just go leave it at this.
Speaker E:Can't come to the cookout for sure.
Speaker B:But that's a good part from the.
Speaker B:From the music scene to there.
Speaker B:Yes, that was church.
Speaker B:But church has visitors for a reason.
Speaker B:Like you don't bring.
Speaker B:Because at the door, they were never there.
Speaker B:They were never part of the community.
Speaker B:Because you got what is basically our argument with what religion was being taught with us, even though we're not free from the people that taught it from us technically, even though we're on opposite sides of the street.
Speaker B:But then you got the music scene, which is actual church, to where even if the music, which is spiritual, does attract the wrong type of spiritual attention, we got a person for that.
Speaker B:We got a whole girl who knows how to handle hates.
Speaker B:Oh, no, this ain't a hate.
Speaker B:It's a vampire.
Speaker B:I know what to do.
Speaker B:Start cutting this, this drink this, eat.
Speaker B:Like we had people for each of these things, regardless of where.
Speaker C:Where Candy.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker I:That's why I started laughing when I saw that.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Something had to move the movie along, but, like, at least it wasn't one of us.
Speaker E:It did.
Speaker C:It was then.
Speaker C:Was it.
Speaker C:Was it eating guard?
Speaker C:The eating garlic scene was actually.
Speaker E:Oh, my goodness.
Speaker B:I was like.
Speaker E:I was like, no, no, because you talking about Ms.
Speaker E:Perlene.
Speaker C:Perlene.
Speaker C:Perlene and Delta Slim were just.
Speaker C:They were the worst ones because Perlene was like, I don't like the way it tastes.
Speaker E:Talk about, girl, he about to shoot you if you don't.
Speaker B:You saw how fast he unloaded on the first one and still had bullets to spare.
Speaker E:So he was ready to shoot his own family.
Speaker E:Girl, you don't need that thing.
Speaker G:Stop playing.
Speaker C:When she finally got it down and it came down to Slim, who've been drinking all day, he started Harlem shaking.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker H:What is happening?
Speaker C:It's just.
Speaker B:He was just like.
Speaker C:They were so ready.
Speaker C:It was like, I'm like, come on, not Slim.
Speaker C:I'm like, when did they get slim?
Speaker B:Also, let that music choice.
Speaker B:Let that whole sequence show you our distaste for bad music comes from a spiritual place.
Speaker B:So you upset.
Speaker B:You upset us and the ancestors with your shits music.
Speaker B:Just.
Speaker C:Lord.
Speaker E:But you know what?
Speaker E:To.
Speaker E:Also, when I think about the greatest part, like what people were talking about, like, for people that, you know, love vampire lore and, you know, watch vampire stuff like that.
Speaker E:Like a good point that some people made, which I didn't think about in the moment, but it also, you know, for the purpose of this conversation, like Tafari said, you know, obviously, we need you to get the movie along.
Speaker E:We have so many different perspectives.
Speaker E:But it also was just the fact that we know that Mary was already let in.
Speaker E:The idea that technically, they technically didn't need another invitation.
Speaker E:Because Mary was already let in.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:Oh, wow.
Speaker G:Because it breaks.
Speaker C:It breaks the barrier.
Speaker C:It broke the barrier.
Speaker B:I thought they had to be let in individually.
Speaker C:No, because they're high.
Speaker C:Perfect example.
Speaker C:Perfect example.
Speaker C:Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Speaker C:Once angel was lit in Spike and Darla and could all come in freely.
Speaker C:Because all that.
Speaker C:It broke the barrier.
Speaker E:Right?
Speaker E:So that.
Speaker E:I think that.
Speaker G:I think there is a distinction in.
Speaker G:In this.
Speaker G:When they throw homeboy outside.
Speaker E:No, he ran outside.
Speaker B:No, not.
Speaker B:Not the chick's name.
Speaker G:I forgot her name.
Speaker G:I'm so sorry.
Speaker C:Grace.
Speaker G:Grace.
Speaker G:She invited all of them.
Speaker G:She gave carpet everybody.
Speaker G:She said, come in.
Speaker G:I get that.
Speaker E:I.
Speaker E:I get that.
Speaker E:But what I'm saying, she said one.
Speaker B:Stack and one stack and Haley were already inside.
Speaker B:They should have been able to.
Speaker B:To come back at any time.
Speaker E:That's what I technically.
Speaker E:Technically based upon how vampires work, I think, which is it brought.
Speaker E:What I'm saying is just to add to a different perspective the idea of.
Speaker E:I really do think.
Speaker E:Because Remic was.
Speaker E:He wanted Sammy, but it was also like, he really wanted them willingly.
Speaker E:He wanted to get them to give up.
Speaker E:To give in.
Speaker E:And it really was giving, like.
Speaker E:Like the.
Speaker E:This alternative perspective could very well be.
Speaker E:They were playing with Them.
Speaker F:Oh, so join the cult or basically die.
Speaker B:That's what I was kind of getting.
Speaker B:But I think they kind of.
Speaker B:They kind of established the rules with homegirl when they threw the wrong person outside.
Speaker B:Because when, when, when stat when Stack.
Speaker C:The same, the same negro they beat up for having loaded diet.
Speaker C:They've seen him drunk, thought he was dead.
Speaker F:Hey man, it turns out he wasn't dead.
Speaker B:Remember when Stack was dead she was like we need to get the body outside before it comes back.
Speaker B:And she said that before.
Speaker B:So now when they saw.
Speaker B:I think that was them kind of playing with the rules.
Speaker B:You mentioned show yo.
Speaker C:I think that is also correct.
Speaker G:All those rules didn't.
Speaker G:Don't get applied until you turn.
Speaker G:That's.
Speaker G:I think that's where you get around all that.
Speaker F:You, you're.
Speaker G:You can come in and out as a human as much as you want to, but once your soul has been altered.
Speaker G:Yeah, the rules change.
Speaker E:Yeah, but Mary had already.
Speaker E:She was let in.
Speaker G:She had died out there.
Speaker G:That's not really Mary.
Speaker E:I know but that's the point.
Speaker B:Mary was at the point she was let in.
Speaker B:I think, I think Mary.
Speaker B:I think Mary had to wait on head vampire to basically because you said.
Speaker B:I think he because invited her in.
Speaker C:Yeah, Cornbread, he didn't know any better.
Speaker E:It doesn't really matter who invited them.
Speaker E:They could have got the random person to invite them in.
Speaker E:As long as they let them in, they can come in.
Speaker B:So to your point about them playing with it, I think it was more so now that I'm under the wing of boss head vampire.
Speaker B:I'm not gonna go make a charge if he don't.
Speaker B:And especially since he seemed like he wanted them to submit.
Speaker B:Like you said.
Speaker B:I think it was more so because we realized towards the end her and and Stack were kind of on their own tip anyway.
Speaker B:So I think it was more his mission than hers.
Speaker B:Hence why she didn't lead the charge on it.
Speaker B:She just started all the drama and then left.
Speaker C:Candy got a lot of theories that seem to make sense.
Speaker C:She said her theory may possibly work had Remick been invited in because he was the leader of the Eye.
Speaker C:That would have just negated everything else.
Speaker C:And they just.
Speaker B:That was, that was also my thing with them running.
Speaker B:I'm like, if you're born in the house, does that mean you have to leave and then re enter because the first thing they did was get out of there.
Speaker E:I don't think he wanted to leave but he.
Speaker E:She threw the, the stuff on him and of course.
Speaker B:Oh Yeah, I forgot.
Speaker B:I forgot.
Speaker E:He probably just was like, you know, I'm gonna go get to my people for a sec and get some clarity about everything.
Speaker E:I was like, after he got thrown it on her, when he was just.
Speaker B:Hanging at the door, I'm like, you ain't got a little more of that in the jar to just splash in his face?
Speaker C:Because, like, I will say this.
Speaker C:Grace at least had the presence of mind to take her husband out.
Speaker B:On behalf of everyone else.
Speaker B:Yeah, thanks a lot.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker E:I'm crying.
Speaker C:It's like, I guess.
Speaker C:I guess she was like, ain't nobody gonna kill him but me, and I'ma go with him.
Speaker C:Well.
Speaker B:I mean, I'm like, yes, yes, your child's an orphan, but, like, you have two sources of income.
Speaker B:She inherits.
Speaker B:She'll be fine.
Speaker E:Not in that time.
Speaker E:That don't matter.
Speaker H:Running back and forth across the street to work both sts.
Speaker E:I mean, look, and I.
Speaker E:I think there was significance in the fact that Grace was at the Whites Only and her and her daughter was over there, but not only her daughter, but him.
Speaker E:I think that.
Speaker E:Was it intentional to have her be the store clerk of the Whites Only?
Speaker E:Because when you think about position and.
Speaker E:And.
Speaker E:And looks, because that's the whole point of, you know, them even needing to have a posture of a.
Speaker E:All white, you know, place.
Speaker E:Like the posturing of the mother being the.
Speaker E:The clerk of that store and it not being her husband, I think that was intentional.
Speaker C:Yeah, so she says, like Candy says, not for Mary to talk big trash about being able to beat up any in the juke joint but then run away from fighting when she had vampires.
Speaker C:I called Cap somebody lying about having hand.
Speaker E:I could not.
Speaker H:I mean, they had guns.
Speaker B:So what you got, Navy?
Speaker I:I've been trying to get a word of edgewise.
Speaker I:Y'all been throwing nouns and pronouns and verbs since I walked up in here.
Speaker I:Chris said, hey.
Speaker I:I went, hey.
Speaker I:And then all I heard was, y, Mary.
Speaker I:Okay, so y.
Speaker H:First of all, conversation.
Speaker H:Jason.
Speaker C:Reverend, you know what?
Speaker I:That's fine.
Speaker I:I just came from the theater.
Speaker I:Literally walked into my.
Speaker E:That's crazy.
Speaker I:This microphone.
Speaker I:Because I got a fresh perspective.
Speaker I:And let me tell you, everybody was right.
Speaker I:I loved.
Speaker I:I love the symbolism all over the place.
Speaker I:Especially.
Speaker I:Especially when he started playing in the middle of the joint.
Speaker I:And then you see just ancestors.
Speaker I:You see history just form right there on the floor.
Speaker I:And that just.
Speaker I:That made my heart swell.
Speaker I:And that just made me realize that this movie has so much depth to it.
Speaker I:It is one of those conversation pieces that is not going to go away anytime soon.
Speaker I:You could tell there was a lot of jack in the box and a lot of in and out burger and everything else eating while they wrote this movie and put this together.
Speaker I:Incredible.
Speaker C:Yeah, I, I, yeah, that's yeah, that scene.
Speaker C:Something's going to happen.
Speaker C:Something's going to happen.
Speaker C:That is a hard, that is a really hard scene to ignore for so many reasons.
Speaker I:Just the symbolism and the history and the storytelling in that one scene.
Speaker I:Good grief.
Speaker H:Cinematography.
Speaker C:Thank you.
Speaker C:The cinematography, the costumes on the technical.
Speaker G:Side alone, even if you don't history the technical side isn't.
Speaker G:Was amazing.
Speaker C:Let's talk about the costumes because auntie was at it again.
Speaker C:Yes, she was.
Speaker G:As per us.
Speaker I:Yes, she was.
Speaker C:Carter.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker C:Once again proving Haley Stfield said she couldn't wait to get fitted by Ruth Carter.
Speaker C:She looked forward to it because it's.
Speaker I:Just a whole intricacies.
Speaker I:Every layer had a meaning behind it as the movie kept going.
Speaker I:And I'm not gonna lie that last scene because Lady Mandalore said you need to stay for the last scene.
Speaker I:I felt that as soon as he sat down and started playing, I felt.
Speaker E:That it was good.
Speaker C:Before we, before we get to that last scene, you know, chaos ensues, everything goes down.
Speaker C:But there's one other piece that a lot of people didn't really touch on.
Speaker B:This is where the anger reviews came from.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:So the brothers buy the, they buy the, the meal.
Speaker C:They bought it from a white guy and.
Speaker C:And they say yeah, if anybody crossed this line, we taking them out.
Speaker C:And that's when the white dudes.
Speaker C:There ain't no clan no more.
Speaker C:However were they were wrong.
Speaker I:Of course the clan would say the clan is.
Speaker H:There's no right because he was still playing around.
Speaker C:He was part of the clan.
Speaker C:He was one of the leads.
Speaker E:Right.
Speaker C:And Smoke, who's been left alive went to the trunk and got out their army gear because the brothers were in the military.
Speaker C:They were in World War I.
Speaker I:Listen, you talking about, you know that.
Speaker C:Feeling, you know that feeling you got in Django when Jamie Foxx was winning that house and and went and went went buck wild nuts.
Speaker C:Nobody was walking out of there and, and you know, we were like yeah, that was, that was my.
Speaker B:The theater theater erupted.
Speaker B:But that, that was the, the very black ass moment that I was telling y'all about from my early screening was that the, you realize the entire moment movie he was prepared to just deal with that.
Speaker B:He was already prepared to shoot from the beginning of the film.
Speaker B:He just didn't know he was gonna need that many bullets.
Speaker B:So throughout the entire zombie apocalypse, vampire apocalypse, he is, he is still thinking the entire film undertone, if I survive this, I still gotta shoot these crackers in the morning.
Speaker E:No, because he said, he said when I, when we, when they bought it, he said, and we better not see none of your money around here or we shooting y'all.
Speaker B:And then that was part of the vampire speech though, was him trying to convince him to join.
Speaker E:Y'all gonna die in the morning.
Speaker C:Yeah, when he told him that, he told me.
Speaker E:But see, I.
Speaker E:My thing was, okay.
Speaker E:I did think like, were they expecting all of them?
Speaker E:Not.
Speaker E:I threw my phone.
Speaker F:Oh my God.
Speaker E:Were they expecting all of them to fall asleep at the, at the joint?
Speaker C:Because I think they were trying to lock the door, lock them in and.
Speaker E:And they gonna do that at night.
Speaker E:Because they didn't even try to come there at night.
Speaker B:They was.
Speaker B:They was either gonna send everyone home before sunrise or lock them in and be like, y'all stay here.
Speaker B:We gotta handle some business outside.
Speaker B:Because there was enough guns for smoke and stack to flank them like a true military.
Speaker E:But that doesn't make.
Speaker G:Because they never showed up.
Speaker E:They never tried to show up at night.
Speaker G:Can we point out how know there was blood on the floor when they bought the place?
Speaker C:He said, what happened to the people before and he just spit on the floor.
Speaker G:Yep.
Speaker B:I was confused by it.
Speaker B:I didn't like, I still.
Speaker B:I didn't fully understand the history of killing floors up until.
Speaker G:Yeah, yeah, but.
Speaker B:So I don't know what, I don't know what the plan was.
Speaker B:Show you.
Speaker B:But I think, I think their goal wasn't to get everybody, but just to take these black people's money and then ruin the building that they bought and, and just say have.
Speaker E:I think they.
Speaker E:They were planning to kill them, but it was just like to.
Speaker E:To think that they were going to be there in the morning.
Speaker E:I was like, like that.
Speaker E:Like what?
Speaker B:Whether they got one or whether they got 15.
Speaker B:A lynching is a lynching.
Speaker B:They were happy to.
Speaker E:100%.
Speaker B:They were happy to take black people's money and then kill the people they took the money from.
Speaker E:Which 100%.
Speaker E:Cuz that's what made me mad.
Speaker E:I said, imagine I just told you this.
Speaker E:This.
Speaker E:I gave you this bag of money and you still show up.
Speaker E:That's what pissed me off.
Speaker B:But then you said, and now you got two.
Speaker B:Two twins, ex military who know how to sit here and clearly set up a sniper point and was ready for it.
Speaker B:So before the, before we Even knew the vampires was coming.
Speaker B:They was ready for the, the scarfuffle in the AM.
Speaker I:Not the.
Speaker C:I haven't heard, I have not heard that word.
Speaker I:Oh no.
Speaker B:That's what I've been using to spoil the free tail.
Speaker B:What happens in the beginning, I'm like, they get a little skirt fuffle.
Speaker B:You know, everybody.
Speaker E:The, the.
Speaker E:For the blood purposes, like on the floor.
Speaker E:I think it definitely represented, you know, the people that they killed there before.
Speaker E:And also the fact that it was very obvious that the money that they got, like, not saying it was blood money, but it was definitely not good money.
Speaker E:Like, like we know where their money came from.
Speaker E:And it, it.
Speaker E:And it was kind of like pieced together throughout the, throughout the, you know, the film with the, with the mobs and everything like that.
Speaker E:But it's just like I, I think, I mean there was a lot of foreshadowing in there.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker E:Because that was a piece.
Speaker C:Go ahead, man.
Speaker H:To show your point.
Speaker H:I like, I do.
Speaker H:I didn't even think about it with you were saying about how they showed up in the morning expecting anybody to be there in the first place.
Speaker H:But like as the scene unfolded, it made me think of the episode of Dave Chappelle when, when he shot the slave master.
Speaker H:And everybody's like, oh, he's like, what?
Speaker H:I shoot a slave master every episode.
Speaker B:If they let me.
Speaker B:I was like, that's exactly.
Speaker H:That's all I could think in my head.
Speaker H:It's like, I don't know if I actually needed the scene as far as everything else that happened in the movie.
Speaker C:But we shooting a bunch of clansmen.
Speaker F:This works.
Speaker D: In: Speaker B:That, that is the perfect win to a movie where we technically almost lost everybody.
Speaker B:Like, and then.
Speaker B:Which what probably ended up being the story is that they found the Klansman bodies, but none of ours.
Speaker B:And they probably just blamed it on them because that's.
Speaker B:I was expecting that.
Speaker C:But.
Speaker C:But there's nobody to find.
Speaker C:There's nobody to blank.
Speaker C:There's nobody around.
Speaker B:That's what I'm saying.
Speaker B:Like we didn't see.
Speaker B:I guess everyone turned to ash, but they left the clan corpses there with a.
Speaker B:With smoke.
Speaker B:So I'm, I, I was expecting old man Sammy to kind of give us that.
Speaker B:Like, yeah, they just told the story and said Klansman killed everybody.
Speaker B:But I still remember what happened.
Speaker B:But that's fine.
Speaker B:I know some people said the build up flare felt like it was too long, but it wasn't.
Speaker C:It was letting you know that's character.
Speaker C:That's character.
Speaker E:Build up of what?
Speaker B:So that's the.
Speaker B:That's the complaint.
Speaker B:Some people have.
Speaker B:Like, oh, the first half was too long.
Speaker B:It's like.
Speaker B:No, it's show.
Speaker B:It's showing you that these people are important.
Speaker B:They're not just characters to kill off later.
Speaker B:Everybody.
Speaker E:Problem with people.
Speaker C:Everybody had a.
Speaker C:Those are the ones.
Speaker C:Those are the ones who didn't.
Speaker C:Don't.
Speaker E:What it takes to have a real story, plot, exposition.
Speaker C:Thank you.
Speaker E:Matters.
Speaker E:Like, here's the thing.
Speaker I:Most of these people with a tik tock attention span come into a movie theater and they swear up and down that everything's got to be explained within the first 30 minutes.
Speaker I:And that's not the case.
Speaker I:The.
Speaker I:The credits alone will take you about 5.
Speaker I:And then you get the setting, which takes about 10.
Speaker I:I don't understand it.
Speaker C:That's like.
Speaker C:It.
Speaker I:Don't start with y'all.
Speaker D:Don't start.
Speaker E:Who is coming?
Speaker C:That's why I threw.
Speaker C:That's why I threw him up front.
Speaker C:I'm like, nope.
Speaker C:He got this word.
Speaker B:Shut up.
Speaker B:While I lay down these vocals.
Speaker B:Let him speak.
Speaker I:Every time you do that, I can't help but laugh.
Speaker I:But it's true.
Speaker I:I first sat in the movie and enjoyed myself because I knew everything.
Speaker I:The who, what, why, where, when, and how we're gonna be like in that first hour or so.
Speaker I:And I was patient.
Speaker I:But then what's funny is somebody behind me.
Speaker I:Somebody.
Speaker I:When we gonna get to the action?
Speaker C:I want to say you in the wrong movie.
Speaker G:Well, I don't know what you.
Speaker I:This ain't.
Speaker E:Somebody said that.
Speaker C:That.
Speaker I:Yeah, someone said it behind me.
Speaker I:And I said, oh, we got this fast and furious.
Speaker C:Here's the problem I have with the people that think like that.
Speaker C:You're in the mall.
Speaker C:If you've never seen a Ryan Coogler movie come on at all.
Speaker C:Like, you don't know.
Speaker C:He does character development in a storyline.
Speaker C:Like Shoko said, the exposition.
Speaker C:There's a reason in a per.
Speaker C:That's why by the end of this film.
Speaker C:Well, not the end, but when we get to that.
Speaker C:To that climactic scene and.
Speaker C:And smoke, taking out the clan.
Speaker C:And he takes a bullet.
Speaker C:And then he sits down and he.
Speaker C:And he's trying to roll that cigarette.
Speaker C:Mind you, he.
Speaker C:That's normally Stack's job.
Speaker C:He's shaking and he's thinking about all these people that.
Speaker C:That came to help put this thing together.
Speaker C:And then he just.
Speaker C:He.
Speaker C:He crumbles it up, snatches that protection bag off, and then that's when he sees Annie with their baby.
Speaker C:Any other film where your main characters.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Any other film where your main characters die and you, you're just kind of like it was.
Speaker C:You're just like, man, that's kind of messed up up.
Speaker C:This was not that feeling.
Speaker C:You're just like, this is how you tell that story.
Speaker C:This is how you make these people.
Speaker D:That was a payoff.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I say it's like movies, movies where everybody gets got.
Speaker B:I usually can't watch more than once.
Speaker B:Like, I think Miracle of St.
Speaker B:Anna is a beautiful film, but I can't stand the fact that I know, like none of them brothers made it out of there.
Speaker B:Except the only one that made, I think was one person in the little boy.
Speaker B:But like this movie where like they at least did it in a good way to make you care about everyone, not just, oh, I liked him.
Speaker B:I thought he had more, more lines.
Speaker B:Nope.
Speaker B:Like, they built it up and I was like, come on, Smoke, get up.
Speaker B:You'll be fine.
Speaker B:Once they showed the baby, I was like, ah, yeah.
Speaker F:So.
Speaker C:Especially after what she said with Annie told him earlier and she was using them bones and she said, I'm not.
Speaker C:If I'm not gonna make it, I.
Speaker E:Got somebody waiting for me on the other side.
Speaker E:You should join us.
Speaker E:Put that, don't get no Smoke out on this though.
Speaker G:But to, I guess to another point in, in that moment or in those tones, we don't often get somebody that dies and it, you know, they're at peace.
Speaker B:Like, that's, that's what it was.
Speaker B:He, he was okay with it because he at least, he at least got Sammy, who was.
Speaker B:They all basically talked about like the future out of there.
Speaker B:And even when he was talking to Sam, he was like, I want to go on the road.
Speaker B:No, you're gonna take your ass over there with them.
Speaker B:Other people who know how to act right and will treat you right, don't like, yeah, like, Stack is cool, but he hard headed.
Speaker B:You need to go over there.
Speaker B:So like again, I repeat, gangsters had decorum back then.
Speaker B:Like you didn't, you didn't involve them in your nonsense.
Speaker B:You're like, hey, we lose this life because we have to.
Speaker B:You don't need to.
Speaker B:You need to go over there and get your act right.
Speaker C:And, and that's the thing Stack was telling Sammy, you need to take that and you need to go out there in the world.
Speaker C:Like if he didn't know, do anything else.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:I guess you could say he told that, you know, and even.
Speaker C:And Sammy's daddy, played by Saul Williams, it Wasn't that Sammy didn't want to be in the church.
Speaker C:It's just Sammy's daddy wanted me a preacher.
Speaker C:He's like, God didn't make me to be a preacher.
Speaker C:He made me to be a singer.
Speaker G:Sometimes your higher calling is not to be in.
Speaker G:In a town, in a house of God.
Speaker C:Sometimes your higher call, like, he.
Speaker C:He got a gift.
Speaker E:I mean, there was also cell coppers.
Speaker E:I mean, I just.
Speaker E:I mean, to be honest, nobody wanted to be a sharecropper.
Speaker E:So it's just like.
Speaker E:Like he had an opportunity.
Speaker E:Or rather not even.
Speaker E:He didn't really have an opportunity, but he had a gift that he decided, I am getting away from this, regardless which it in itself.
Speaker E:I was like, you know, that could have potentially been problematic for his family because they were sharecroppers.
Speaker E:So him leaving, it's not like we know that he technically could leave.
Speaker E:He just decided, I'm leaving because I know that this is the whole song.
Speaker C:I'm gonna look, I.
Speaker C:He got.
Speaker C:He got a freak out of mind.
Speaker C:Yeah, just a little lot of mine.
Speaker C:And every.
Speaker C:That was him saying, God gave me this gift.
Speaker C:I'm going to use it.
Speaker C:And here's another thing.
Speaker C:That scene between him and Remic in the.
Speaker C:In the lake, I was.
Speaker B:I thought the water was going to turn the holy.
Speaker B:I thought it was going to turn to a holy water lake and call it a day.
Speaker B:I wasn't expecting the.
Speaker C:Cuz he started praying and I'm like, is this where he blessed?
Speaker C:Is the water in it?
Speaker C:And.
Speaker C:But then Remic started repeating the line.
Speaker E:He says, because everybody knows the Lord is crazy.
Speaker B:I.
Speaker B:I didn't know.
Speaker B:The Irish went to their own religious forcefulness and their own.
Speaker E:They did very heavily.
Speaker C:That's why he was saying it throughout the film.
Speaker C:He was like, sammy, we.
Speaker C:We're the same.
Speaker C:We've come.
Speaker B:Our.
Speaker C:Our backgrounds is generally the same.
Speaker C:People forcing themselves on us and took our.
Speaker C:Took our land, took our blood, took our.
Speaker C:I'm like, yeah, but.
Speaker I:And you notice in that scene, the megalomania took over, because as he's talking and keep dunking him underneath the water, I'm going.
Speaker I:You get a little bit too headstrong in your victory.
Speaker I:You think you gonna win.
Speaker I:And then when.
Speaker I:When Sammy came home, I thought that.
Speaker E:Was all very like, Chris.
Speaker E:I think it had a lot of, like, religious in that whole scene.
Speaker E:Because, yes, the dipping in the water, the respecting of the Lord's Prayer.
Speaker E:Yeah, the baptism, but also the fact that you've got this vampire, the.
Speaker E:The devil quote, unquote and it used to be an angel.
Speaker E:They know what you are saying.
Speaker E:Like, it's not to say that this cannot protect you, but it is to say that your enemy also knows the same thing.
Speaker E:Things that you are reciting, bro.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because these words were taught to both of us by different enemies who took everything from us.
Speaker E:And the only thing that was able to help him out of that was the guitar.
Speaker B:And that's.
Speaker B:That was such a dope thing.
Speaker B:Because by the time this movie has gotten so crazy, we don't forgot that silver is even a thing that hurts.
Speaker B:Vampires.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:So this dude, when he does it.
Speaker C:And I'm like, oh, that piece was silver.
Speaker I:I never forgot.
Speaker C:I wasn't.
Speaker C:I just thought it was a cool looking guitar.
Speaker I:I a think that guitar had way too much symbolism behind it.
Speaker I:I said, that thing is going to have a significance later.
Speaker I:And when he hit it with that guitar, I went silver in the well.
Speaker I:Okay.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I thought he was gonna like take the rest of the guitar and hit him with the steak.
Speaker B:But then when smoke shows up, I'm like, so how did you.
Speaker B:Also the whole.
Speaker B:He feels everyone's pain.
Speaker B:That was kind of confusing because it.
Speaker E:Seemed the gestalt takes everything from them, so.
Speaker E:Everything from them.
Speaker B:He's.
Speaker E:He like.
Speaker E:Like the.
Speaker E:You know, from when it begins with all the fire and everything.
Speaker E:And he.
Speaker E:He says, I want their stories, I want their songs.
Speaker E:I know.
Speaker B:I know he feels it, but it's like.
Speaker B:It feels like it was random sometimes.
Speaker B:I'm like other people get knocked inside the head and arrows moving just fine.
Speaker B:But then one person gets hurt and suddenly everyone.
Speaker B:It just because it.
Speaker B:It.
Speaker E:It's more like for Annie, like someone mentioned in the chat, like they were all sad.
Speaker E:And my perspective of that was Annie had so much cultural and spiritual knowledge.
Speaker E:Them losing her, not her.
Speaker E:Her not being able to turn.
Speaker E:She was very adamant on.
Speaker E:You need to kill me.
Speaker I:Yeah.
Speaker I:Thank you.
Speaker I:I was thinking the same thing.
Speaker I:The Choctaw in the beginning, I'm sitting.
Speaker B:There going, that's another.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker G:That's not that we learned when we let y'all on the shore.
Speaker G:This is your problem now.
Speaker C:That's all they all.
Speaker C:Like I said, all they had to do was see that robe.
Speaker C:And that woman was like, you know what?
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:But with the other.
Speaker B:With the other cultures in this film, they.
Speaker B:He was on the run from them taking a risk in broad daylight, which means they did something.
Speaker B:They put the hurt on him so bad he was willing to risk it with like his.
Speaker B:His biggest enemy.
Speaker B:Which was the sun, because he's there, bloody, burnt, and like one eye swollen shut.
Speaker I:He kind of realized how dumb the people were, too.
Speaker I:Talking about my wife.
Speaker I:My wife is hurting me.
Speaker I:I'm terrible.
Speaker I:I'm sitting there going, if y'all believe this, you deserve everything you get.
Speaker E:No, but I mean, they.
Speaker E:They were racist.
Speaker B:And then the native have their own methods of dealing with this and detecting it.
Speaker B:Because clearly they knew what was up at some point and probably took out whoever he brought with him over there.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:But then when they get to Sammy and them, it's like they try to relate through music.
Speaker B:Doesn't work.
Speaker B:Then they try to relate through their hive mind.
Speaker B:So, like, I got the hive mind set.
Speaker B:Like, they were all sad.
Speaker B:Homegirl didn't get to turn, and he honored her wishes.
Speaker B:It was just like the pain thing seemed a little flip floppy.
Speaker B:But when he hit him with the silver, then Smoke sneak past everybody.
Speaker B:That's like, all right, that makes sense.
Speaker B:Like the head vampire.
Speaker B:Cool.
Speaker B:It felt like what it was inconsistent with the fodder.
Speaker B:And then Slim going out like a real G.
Speaker B:We appreciate you, Bill.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Hey, yeah.
Speaker C:Oh, shout out there.
Speaker C:Roy Lindo.
Speaker C:He did go out like a G.
Speaker C:I know I'm not gonna make it out of this one, but I'm not gonna let my people go down.
Speaker C:I'm gonna make sure I take some of this heat off Slim.
Speaker B:And Sammy very much gave me Sam.
Speaker B:And Isaiah is the way he's like.
Speaker B:He's still feeling.
Speaker B:We call it Church hurt.
Speaker B:That.
Speaker B:Church hurt about his music.
Speaker B:And he was like, no, this was enforced on us like that religion.
Speaker B:This has been with us since before we got here.
Speaker B:So he was trying to basically telling Sammy to play his heart out.
Speaker B:And sure enough, he did Pierce in the Veil.
Speaker C:So now we fast forward to.
Speaker C:What was it?
Speaker C:92.
Speaker C: It was, yeah,: Speaker C:Yeah, 92.
Speaker C:And we're in the Club Perlenes.
Speaker C:And that's Buddy Guy that's playing actual blues player.
Speaker C:Buddy Guy.
Speaker C:He's playing older Sammy, and he's doing his thing, playing a set.
Speaker C:And after.
Speaker C:Set is over, club is closing down.
Speaker C:Bodyguard says, hey, Sammy, there's somebody.
Speaker C:People at the door that want to see.
Speaker C:Some fans, they say they want to see you.
Speaker C:Bring me in.
Speaker C:Who is it?
Speaker C:Stacking Mary in a coogee sweater.
Speaker E:Right?
Speaker I:Yo.
Speaker B:The 90s haircut and all the step and everything.
Speaker C:And that's when you realize, oh, Smoke couldn't kill his brother.
Speaker C:Because that moment where they were facing off, he had.
Speaker C:He had him dead.
Speaker C:He stack Or Sammy had him.
Speaker C:Not Sammy.
Speaker C:Smoke had him.
Speaker C:Did the rights.
Speaker C:Had stacked.
Speaker C:Did the rights.
Speaker C:And he said, I just been protecting you all my life.
Speaker C:He's like, I just tried to protect you all my life.
Speaker C:And he says, you did.
Speaker C:And that's when you find out that Smoke made Stack promise, don't touch Sammy because that's their cousin.
Speaker C:He said, don't touch him.
Speaker C:I don't care about nothing else.
Speaker C:Just don't touch him.
Speaker C:He has a chance.
Speaker C:And he kept that promise.
Speaker C:And he said, I just came in.
Speaker C:He's talking about, you know, that electric guitar stuff you play.
Speaker C:That's cool.
Speaker C:But I like the, I like the, the real stuff.
Speaker C:He's like, just play me the real stuff.
Speaker C:And he plays it for him.
Speaker C:They hug.
Speaker C:Because I was a little concerned.
Speaker C:I'm like, hey, man.
Speaker C:About to renege on this promise.
Speaker C:I was nervous about the reneg on his promise.
Speaker E:He said, I ain't got that much life left.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:He gives him, he Smith, he gives him that bitch sniff.
Speaker C:He's like, you know, you ain't got much longer.
Speaker C:And Sammy says, ah, nah, I'm tired of this place.
Speaker C:I'm like, brother, I feel you.
Speaker B:That whole, that whole ending, that's where my mom lost that speech he gave at the end where he was just.
Speaker C:Like, oh, the freedom speech.
Speaker C:Yeah, that was.
Speaker C:He said, Sammy says, you know, I wake once a week.
Speaker C:Week.
Speaker C:Once or twice a week I wake up paralyzed in fear.
Speaker C:But then I think about that day and it was the best day of my life.
Speaker C:Not the night, right?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:And he said, how was it for you?
Speaker C:And Stack says, it was, he was like, I got to see my brother again.
Speaker C:I got to see the sun again.
Speaker C:And he said, for a few hours we were free.
Speaker C:And I'm like, symbolism, damn.
Speaker B:That's, that's what got my mom.
Speaker B:I missed the second scene because me, me and King Live, we had to rush out past everybody trying to get like, footage.
Speaker B:And then I heard talking.
Speaker B:I'm like, are they still going?
Speaker E:Yeah, crazy work.
Speaker C:It was, it was a young Sammy playing.
Speaker C:I'm gonna lit a sign.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker C:In a blues fashion.
Speaker C:But he was in the church.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker C:So, yeah, so it was the movie.
Speaker C:10 out of 10.
Speaker G:I, I just want to point out because I don't think there are too many people that have talked about this yet.
Speaker G:They only had four months to shoot this movie.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Shot on really hot days and everything, April to July.
Speaker G:That the, if he had a year to show shoot this movie, I, I, what would we have Gotten.
Speaker B:Hey, look, go ahead and just put the entire director's cut on the DVD from me, player.
Speaker B:I'll watch.
Speaker B:I watch all three and a half hours.
Speaker B:That.
Speaker B:That is the mind of a.
Speaker B:He's from Oakland.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker E:From the Bay Area.
Speaker C:I can't remember.
Speaker B:That is the mind.
Speaker B:That is the mind of a cool California native.
Speaker B:I appreciate it.
Speaker B:And he's been talking like.
Speaker B:I'm talking like a true California native.
Speaker B:Look, this man ain't said the name right in one interview.
Speaker B:It's Shinners you're going to see, not Sinners.
Speaker B:And I appreciate it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Real quick, before we get out of here, quick round to this.
Speaker C:This is probably our longest episode yet, but this was one of the best movies this year.
Speaker C:So we were giving it its time.
Speaker C:There was no rushing.
Speaker G:This a cultural event.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So it's.
Speaker I:It still is.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Go see it again.
Speaker C:Whether it's.
Speaker C:Whether it's the 70.70millimeter version in the theaters, whether it's IMAX.
Speaker C:Go see it again.
Speaker C:I'm trying to go see it tomorrow.
Speaker C:If I don't, I'm going.
Speaker C:I'm going on Friday or Saturday, but go see it.
Speaker C:Go show support.
Speaker C:This movie was.
Speaker I:It was 12 out of 10 at its.
Speaker C:I want to read.
Speaker C:Laney, I want you to give your.
Speaker C:Your review real quick.
Speaker C:Your rating.
Speaker C:I should say.
Speaker F:Drum roll, please.
Speaker D:Okay.
Speaker D:My heart.
Speaker D:I'm gonna say like I said on YouTube, on my channel, my heart says cannot.
Speaker D:The.
Speaker D:The Horror person says 9.5.
Speaker D:So I gave it a 975.
Speaker D:But it really is.
Speaker B:It really.
Speaker D:But I just wanted a little more vampires.
Speaker E:I just want.
Speaker B:I can't lie to you.
Speaker B:I can't lie to you.
Speaker E:This.
Speaker E:That's how I feel.
Speaker D:But it really is a great.
Speaker C:Oh my gosh, Lady Mandalore.
Speaker G:A thousand out of ten.
Speaker G:Like, what are we talking about here?
Speaker G:I'm.
Speaker G:I'm gonna go see it again.
Speaker G:I am very, very proud to say that the IMAX theater.
Speaker G:Let me actually take a quick peek to see how much the ticket prices are, because I can't remember.
Speaker G:Yeah, it's 32.6.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:You got.
Speaker C:It's worth.
Speaker G:Is to.
Speaker G:For tomorrow's showings.
Speaker G:It is sold out.
Speaker G:It is at night.
Speaker C:I know.
Speaker D:That's right.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker G:And at least do you get to.
Speaker H:Be Michael B.
Speaker H:Jordan afterwards?
Speaker C:Shorts.
Speaker B:You get a film reel.
Speaker G:You do this tomorrow?
Speaker G:Yeah.
Speaker G:Starting tomorrow, you get a piece of the IMAX 70 millimeter film.
Speaker G:When you go in there.
Speaker G:For as long as it lasts.
Speaker G:I don't know how much Film that is.
Speaker G:But that sounds like a lot of goddamn film.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker G:I, I, I, I might have to leave my mother.
Speaker B:We have.
Speaker C:Sacrifices will be made.
Speaker B:I'm telling you, she's got, she got the 70 millimeter experience.
Speaker B:I have one in Dallas.
Speaker B:I'm gonna try to make it.
Speaker C:So shwo.
Speaker C:What was your rating for this one?
Speaker I:Yes, Sho.
Speaker C:What is your mind you mind you everyone show quo don't like much any.
Speaker C:I'm kidding.
Speaker C:I'm kidding.
Speaker E:I definitely think I'm gonna have to agree with Laney and give it like a 9.5.
Speaker E:But it's amazing.
Speaker G:A hater.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker E:That's not a hater.
Speaker E:It's amazing.
Speaker E:It doesn't take away from it.
Speaker C:All right, give me your rating.
Speaker B:10 out of 10.
Speaker B:Go support the movie.
Speaker B:There's a no bootleg embargo.
Speaker B:Get your ass out the seats and go watch the damn thing if you, if you want to see it at home.
Speaker B:You got like three months, buddy.
Speaker B:Warner Brothers needs money.
Speaker B:We didn't forget y'all still broke.
Speaker B:Book, please, for the love of God, go buy tickets.
Speaker B:Tell your friends.
Speaker B:Take the scaredy Cats if they need a handheld.
Speaker B:The Blu Ray and the the steelbook is already off of pre order.
Speaker B:So if you can, please, please.
Speaker C:It's already on the docket.
Speaker B:I think they already.
Speaker B:They've already had to restock it like once, I think also please have your pitchforks ready because now that you actually have to watch the movies to vote, every category it loses we know is a snub.
Speaker C:Mayhem.
Speaker C:Oh, I.
Speaker C:I'm really glad you got in on this one because you are our cinephile of the crew and, and your opinion really matters because I.
Speaker C:When I seen that scene in the barn, I'm like, he gonna love this.
Speaker C:He gonna love this.
Speaker H:Yeah.
Speaker H:I guess to some of the people's concerns that we've expressed over the course of the evening.
Speaker H:I get how people can say they felt like it was two movies kind of stitched together.
Speaker H:And I'll say I, you know, in real time.
Speaker H:I was like, I don't know if I need this.
Speaker H:This, this piece with the Tommy gun at the end.
Speaker H:However, caveats always exist.
Speaker H:Caveat being you get to mow down some, some kkk.
Speaker H:I don't need a reason.
Speaker D:Do it.
Speaker H:Put it in your film.
Speaker H:Love it.
Speaker H:The barn scene, that.
Speaker H:That's a thousand out of ten.
Speaker H:But in and of itself, that, that paints over everything else that could have possibly happened in the film.
Speaker H:And yeah, man, some, some well clothed, well choreographed hoism.
Speaker H:I.
Speaker H:I don't know.
Speaker H:I don't know that.
Speaker H:That.
Speaker H:That there is a movie that compares in recent memory whatsoever.
Speaker H:It is an experience.
Speaker H:You need to go out and see it on the biggest screen possible.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:What you got?
Speaker B:Carrie, you had another note?
Speaker E:Absolutely should see it.
Speaker G:I do.
Speaker G:For the people that are awesome.
Speaker G:Ho.
Speaker C:Maybe.
Speaker G:Oh, wait a minute.
Speaker F:Are you saying.
Speaker H:That was a shady cut?
Speaker E:It was.
Speaker G:It was very, very, very quickly.
Speaker G:You don't actually have to sit in the theater in order to get this thing some money.
Speaker G:Go get the bootleg.
Speaker C:Fine.
Speaker G:But give the $20 to the theater so that my.
Speaker G:So that these people can make their money.
Speaker G:That's all I'm saying.
Speaker G:That's all I'm saying.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker C:What my second in command say?
Speaker C:She's not lying.
Speaker C:Navy.
Speaker C:Oh, hi.
Speaker E:Hey.
Speaker I:What's going on, y'all?
Speaker I:This was definitely 15 out of 10.
Speaker I:It was well worth it, this movie.
Speaker I:If you missed this movie, that's your fault.
Speaker I:Okay?
Speaker I:If you are deciding if you want to go see this movie, it is still your fault for not getting up off your ass and supporting this movie.
Speaker I:Okay?
Speaker I:That's all I gotta say.
Speaker C:Thank you, Christy, for bringing this up.
Speaker C:Because this deal that he made, it, it's.
Speaker C:It's shaking up the tofu people.
Speaker C:I'm telling you that right now.
Speaker F:They mad the final edit.
Speaker F:The final edit.
Speaker F:So here's.
Speaker C:Here's.
Speaker C:Here's his deal.
Speaker C:He saw 90 million for the movie with a few string attached.
Speaker C:He needed to retain control of the film's final cut, receive a percentage of the box office girls from the beginning film's theatrical run rather than waiting for cut after it became profitable, which is most common anyway.
Speaker C:He also insisted that the ownership of the film would revert to him after 25 years.
Speaker C:He just told WB it's mine.
Speaker C:And he said.
Speaker C:And he said the reason why he did that was this film.
Speaker C:This film was about ownership.
Speaker C:And the fact I said 25 years, which means you gotta talk to him.
Speaker C:You got to talk to him.
Speaker F:Distribution streams.
Speaker H:I forget the gentleman's name that actually did the deal, but I saw a article about him.
Speaker H:He said, I heard the pitch for what this movie was.
Speaker H:I.
Speaker H:I made my next move, my best move.
Speaker H:Like y'all think this is a crazy deal.
Speaker H:I think it's crazy to let this walk and be at somebody else's studio.
Speaker E:No, because that's what happened.
Speaker C:He said he was gonna walk it marching somewhere else.
Speaker C:Smart move.
Speaker C:Thank you, Coogler.
Speaker C:And.
Speaker C:And.
Speaker C:And it is.
Speaker C:It's going to shake up everything.
Speaker C:From ownership to black directors and filmmakers going forward, it's about two today's.
Speaker G:Yes, it is.
Speaker G:Price.
Speaker F:I will say this for all those that are.
Speaker F:Because again, I'm.
Speaker F:I'm the only one in the group that hasn't gone seen it yet because, you know, sickness and family.
Speaker F:But it's all good.
Speaker F:Please check out a lot of other people's posts about this movie, including Navy and Tafari and Kira's, because they all point out certain literature, books, books that are all tied to this, that can be tied or inspired by this movie.
Speaker F:So.
Speaker C:And he paid.
Speaker C:He paid homage to other films that were influenced.
Speaker C:Somebody tried to say this is nothing more than Dust Till Dawn.
Speaker C:He didn't pay in.
Speaker C:He didn't pay.
Speaker C:Yes, he did.
Speaker C:He said it out of his mouth.
Speaker I:Yeah, that.
Speaker I:That dude's dusty curly headed ass can shut up.
Speaker B:Okay?
Speaker C:He said it out his mouth in an interview that, yeah, Dust Till Doll was one of the inf.
Speaker C:There were a lot of vampire films, films that were influences.
Speaker E:There's nothing that you can tell me, I don't care what nobody say.
Speaker E:There's nothing that you can tell me that this movie mimics.
Speaker E:There are a lot of things that people mimic these days.
Speaker E:And it's like, okay, originality is kind of like far fetched.
Speaker E:You can't be original as much.
Speaker E:There is not another movie that I could say, oh, I thought of when I thought of Sinners because it was like that movie, he didn't rip off nobody.
Speaker E:That's a complete hold on Chrissy.
Speaker C:Thank you.
Speaker C:He said he partnered with one of the oldest theaters owned by Allies in Oakland to give it the supreme format and all seats of $6.
Speaker I:He gives love back to his.
Speaker E:To his city.
Speaker I:Yeah.
Speaker C:Thank you.
Speaker E:Hey, man, Cali people gonna love they Cali people.
Speaker F:Black Panther too.
Speaker D:Yes, he did.
Speaker B:If you want something unreal for all.
Speaker G:Of his movies, I think, I think he's done it since Fruit Veil Station.
Speaker C:Now you see what it supported, how what support looks like.
Speaker B:It is a wins for the entire community and the culture minus SH Moore.
Speaker B:Sorry, bro.
Speaker B:If you want something unreal, if you want something unrelated but like a Jason place out the midnight because the second that girl said hate, I was like, like, oh, we are in this realm.
Speaker E:Playing south at Midnight right after seeing that movie because I hadn't started playing it until after I saw the movie was perfect.
Speaker C:I was gonna say this movie is a 10 out of 10.
Speaker C:I wrote an article for it.
Speaker C:Check it out on Blurds iview.org check out everybody's post like Spartan said.
Speaker C:Well, now, go ahead.
Speaker C:What did you say?
Speaker F:I was gonna say about south of Midnight?

Speaker F:And Lainey.
Speaker F:I think he's still going through it.
Speaker F:Kira and I know Safar rap theirs up.
Speaker F:But yep, check it out.
Speaker F:Because that's that game.
Speaker F:That game.
Speaker C:The.
Speaker F:And forgive Me, I'm brain dead right now.
Speaker F:The company behind the game really deserves.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker I:Compulsion Games.
Speaker C:Compulsion Games.
Speaker B:Thank y'all for the.
Speaker B:The free.
Speaker B:Copyright free soundtrack.
Speaker B:I cannot use, by the way.
Speaker B:That background music is getting borrowed a.
Speaker F:Lot because that sound, that soundtrack will.
Speaker C:Have you going to have you like o.
Speaker C:There was.
Speaker F:I ain't gonna spoil.
Speaker F:I'm not gonna spoil it.
Speaker F:But there's some.
Speaker F:There's some scenes in that game where I'm like, oh, I.
Speaker F:I gotta call that.
Speaker F:I gotta call mom for a second.
Speaker C:So, yeah, it's a great day for black culture, which is every day for me.
Speaker C:But please go out, see this film.
Speaker C:Show your support.

Speaker C:Stop.
Speaker C:Don't do that.
Speaker B:Hey, man, look, y'all.
Speaker B:Y'all dropped a whole animated film about Jesus and it's still lost.
Speaker E:I mean, because.
Speaker E:Did you look at the movie?
Speaker F:Geographically inaccurate.
Speaker I:Jesus, you had pastors and preachers at that movie theater just the same.
Speaker I:So I don't even want to hear it.
Speaker B:Oh, they had to give.
Speaker B:They had to do.
Speaker B:They had to do homework for the study.
Speaker B:And I'm trying to take it that God.
Speaker C:But no, all around from production, behind the camera, in front of the camera, costume design.
Speaker C:That cinematography is a beast.
Speaker C:That woman Autumn has worked on Loki and she's worked on some other projects that we know about.
Speaker C:Fantastic job.
Speaker C:To everybody.
Speaker C:To the Couglers, Ryan and Zinsi.
